Stopped in on Sunday for a quick beer during our C&O trip. Ed was great, shared some history and bought us a shot. Filled with friendly locals, don't let the looks fool you. Must stop if you have the time. Thanks again Ed!
Came through as an outsider for one drink on a solo road trip - it didn't really allow enough time to strike up a conversation with the patrons, but as a career bartender, it allowed enough time to pick up the vibe. The gentleman that served me was sweet as pie! I very much enjoyed the fact that the staff seemed to have such a personal relationship with their regulars - talking about Easter plans and all that comes with it. Stopped here traveling off of 81 en route from SE PA to Harrisonburg, VA.I have an affinity for neighborhood & corner bars, which are sadly a dying breed in many towns. This place was definitely a local’s hangout - there was a palpable feeling of community amongst the patrons & staff.
