“First time eating here was a first rate dinner. Are a lunch meal here, fantastic. Staff went out of there way to keep you happy. Servings were more than I could eat. Yes, take exit 133 turn towards Skowhehan less than a mile on the right. It's worth a stop. Locals said there breakfasts are wonderful.”

“I'm almost afraid to post this as I don't want to let the secret out. First time in, we stopped in for brunch. Had THE BEST sausage gravy I've ever had, and it's something I try everywhere I go. The wife even liked it, and she is normally not a fan. It was served over the most delicious, crunchy sourdough toast. Amazing! She had the steak bomb breakfast burrito and we both loved it. They didn't have hot coffee, but their iced coffee was a pretty good substitute. Waitstaff was pleasant, helpful, and very friendly. We will definitely be back to try lunch and dinner. Love the historic theme. It showcases an important part of the state's history in a really classy and tasteful way.Kid-friendliness: Strong pub vibes, so not really aimed at kids. No kids menu for brunch. That being said. We brought our 5 year old grandson. They were very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. He had their French toast and bacon with chocolate milk(in a glass, but we made it work) He really enjoyed the river jack theme and we spent our meal looking at the photos and log Amp on the walls and talking about log drives”

“A very caring owner - cares deeply about the quality of his food and the quality of service of the customers. We have been loyal fans of his food, for decades, when he ran his Beale St. BBQ restaurant in Bath, which sadly no longer exists. He has a a FB page with information about pop up openings - Follow them closely and try to arrive at the beginning of his opening, he sells out FAST! It's a take out spot in Fairfield with plenty of parking given the fact people are picking up their food and leaving. We love everything he serves! literally everything on the menu! St. Louis Ribs, Brisket, Pork Shoulder, Mac and Cheese, Cabbage/Carrot side, Cornbread. So comforting and so delicious. We highly recommend stopping by when he is open.”

“The food is never a disappointment. I had eggplant and rice. My friend ordered the chicken curry and rice. Additionally each came with a side salad. The rice was plentiful, delicious and fluffy. Each of us enjoyed the flavors of our meals. There was plenty to eat and not counting tip each was less then 10 dollars. There is also a unique market to wander before or after your meal. “They have some of the best coffee and it's really nice to have a cafe in the area where you can sit and sip for a while. Their pastries are good, but nothing too spectacular and you never know which ones will be in stock. I find their cakes to be a little dry and overly sweet, although the lemon cake frosting tends to even that out. It's not somewhere I go regularly, but it's good for special occasions; the pastry boxes and tea time sets are very nice.”

“This place is awesome! The pizza was absolutely incredible, crispy yet soft at the same time. The beer was delicious, cold and they had a nice variety. The interior was clean, welcoming and charming. We even had an accident with a full spilt beer and they replaced it, no questions asked. The waitress was super friendly and accommodating.Parking: They screwed with the parking situation downtown in an attempt at gentrification to appeal to the college crowd's families. This resulted in far worse traffic and fewer parking spots. You may have to park in the Goodwill parking lot and walk, if there is room there.”

“Sunrise has the best bagels in central Maine. Their sandwiches are awesome, too. The Hathaway and Sherwin are personal favorites. The Kennebec is the best pork roll you’ll find north of Jersey.”

“Opa brings some incredible Greek food to Waterville. You'll want to make reservations here as it can fill up quickly. We've sat both upstairs and downstairs during our visits. The upstairs is somewhat louder with the downstairs being a quieter experience but both spots have great vibes and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend starting with one of their delicious cocktails. They have a very wide selection which should cater to anyone's tastes. Bread and olive oil is provided for the table, but you definitely need to get some pita and try some of the dips. I highly recommend the hummus and the spicy feta, but you can't go wrong with any of them. I appreciate that Opa's menu is clearly labeled with what is vegetarian and vegan. I've had the Melitzana twice now and both times it was incredible. The grilled eggplant pairs beautifully with the caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms and the delicious sauce. My wife really enjoyed the Greek Salad and the rest of our party loved their Gyro and Scallops. This has become a regular meeting spot when getting together with friends and I can't recommend them enough!Vegetarian options: Clearly labeled vegetarian and vegan dishes!”

“The Jewel of India is a locally owned non chain restaurant. They do a great job with friendly service and serving really amazing food. The staff does a great job of describing the menu and making sure your not getting a hot dish if your palette can't take it, buuut they will also kick up the heat if that's what u like. If your in waterville check this place out. It's well worth the stop.Dietary restrictions: Even though the menu doesn't say it they have lots of gluten free options. So ask your server about that.”
