“Great, lovely, kind, and fast service!! The food is SUPERB and the baked goods are DELICIOUS. The bread bowls are so good. The atmosphere and vibes of the place make me feel all warm and cozy. This is a great small, family-owned business to support!!! (They remember your coffee and sandwich orders, too).”
“Great place for a good meal! It's very much worth the short ride from I-95, as an added bonus , there is a great river view just outside the restaurant.Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street with a crosswalk to assist in getting to the restaurant.”
“Everyone there was very friendly wines there are wines that cannot be found in other places if you were in downtown Gardner would definitely say yes to a quick pop in for a glass of wine or ”
“I live in Wichita Kansas. No one here knows what a Woopie pie is. I am from Mass and my niece sent me 1 dozen of these pies from Gardiner Me and she lives in Maine. I had two pies with milk. I am in heaven. They were great tasting. Recommend for everyone.”
“This is by far the best local brewery in central Maine! Ambiance, entertainment, the coolest bartenders and amazing beer! You must put this on your to-do if you are lucky enough to be in this lovely part of Maine!”
“We had great service!! It was a cozy diner and for 6 am they had a nice crowd. Staff is very down to earth, family feeling. We had biscuits and gravy which was delicious.”
“Went to Renys for the first time in my life and told my daughter we needed to try a new place to eat while there, our winner was Gerard's. And we were not disappointed. We ate a whole large cheese bread stick I couldn't believe it. Great job.”
“Just happened upon this place by accident. Mexican food, rare in Maine. Burritos and tacos were delicious. Pork filling was great. Loved the Sweet potato and spinach quesadilla.”
“Amazing customer service and amazing teas! so many options... and if you have no clue what you want tell them what you are looking for and they will point you in the right direction!”
“My favorite spot for chicken tenders in the Augusta area, maybe even Maine in general. Im a bit of a tendies connoisseur, so trust me! Steak bomb is also so good! We usually get both and share!”
“Locals bar. Reasonably priced and specials on food and beer. While it is locals, it's comfortable. Very. Go ahead and visit! Plenty of parking and other businesses right ”
“I’ve been here 3 times now for take out + 1 delivery.. I love it! Everyone is so friendly, huge portions for the price, and the food has always been so delicious. We got delivery the first time and it arrived early and hot. The other times I’ve gone to get pick up and had a drink (or 2!) at the bar while I waited for my order. The food is so wonderful and reasonably priced and the drinks are a bigger steal! Lovely ladies working, they have a ton of regulars and seem to remember the orders.I don’t go anywhere else!”
“Me and my husband love this place! Delicious food and always super friendly staff. They also have delicious cocktails (nonalcoholic ones too that are very yummy)”
“Great place to have lunch with your kids, double playdates for both my sons. All the kids enjoyed the seating area, where you can enjoy your sandwiches and conversate.”
“Filet of Fish Special, 2 for $6! My favorite sandwich! Hasn't changed since I worked there in 1972-1973. Wish I could say the same about the hamburgers which are half as thick as they used to be!”
“I stopped by for a latte & I don’t think the air is working or something because everyone looks absolutely miserable. I can’t believe your company would allow this to be happening. It’s inhumane & oppressive to make them suffer in this heat. Do better.”
“The pizza here is HEAVENLY!! The Diner closes at 2pm pizza is one of the best I've had. Potatoes, bacon, cheese sauce, maple syrup, and a couple eggs on top are the base ingredients and wow do they work well together!!! Also highly recommend the Cony High Pie, the mill park pie and the crab Rangoon pizza. All 10/10! Staff have always been really attentive and pleasant. Really great atmosphere here, very relaxed but fun. The prices are good for the quality and amount of food you get. I will always jump at the chance to come here.”
“This is the best Thai restaurant in Maine. The 2nd favorite of mine is Pinto Thai to Go. You don't need any other Thai food if you have these two. Thai with us uses high quality ingredients. I have never been served the 'fancy' little mushrooms anywhere else. Best crab rangoons in Maine. Tom Yum soup. Be careful when you get Drunken Noodles though. The chef makes them extra spicy so I stopped ordering them there. Everyrhing else is AMAZING. Curries and noodle dishes alike, poetry in motion.Vegetarian options: There are several, clearly labeled vegetarian dishes.”
“This place is very unique for where it is. Food is refined and definitely worth the trip. Drinks are strong and precise. The Maine crab stuffed haddock is a killer dish as are the fried croutons arugula salad with tomatoes and goat cheese . In such a small town this is truly exceptional putting it lightly.”
“This place has become a must stop for me anytime I’m in Maine. The lobster roll was wicked reasonably priced and is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Fries are delicious and everything looks amazing! Vibes are classic small town mom and pop with great food. Can’t recommend enough!”
“We’ve been to Bistro Milliard a few times, and we’ll keep coming back. Even though we live in Scarborough, it’s worth the 1:15 drive as a destination, even passing by the many fine Portland restaurants. Tim and crew just do a fantastic job with fresh food prep and interesting menu choices. We had short rib over pasta and halibut. Immediate smiles came to our faces after first bites. Charcuterie board was delicious. Can’t say enough good things about this intimate little spot on Main St in Hallowell.”
“Always have something..and owner/cook remembers for last 30 years...fries Always goo..get extra ketchup...I get hamburger with fried onions and ketchup....good folks own and run the place!!!”
“Really enjoyed this meal! 4 courses, each thoughtful and delicious, at a good price point in central Maine. So why were we the only table on a Friday night? People, please patronize this restaurant! 3 states for atmosphere because it was 1. Empty 2. Too dark in front, too bright in back 3. Decor needs some work. But all of that is secondary to the food, which was good. I think they’re taking a hit for the lack of polish but don’t let that deter you. A rare bright spot in the overpriced, bland desert that is central Maine dining. I’ll be back, and I hope we’ll have some company next time!”
“Solid coffee shop. I had a dirty chai that was pretty good. I got mine for there and the drink wasn't really hot by the time I got it. If you have hot water on tap behind the bar maybe prefill the cups with hot water so the drink isn't going to lose half its heat just warming the cup when it gets poured in. I'll definitely be back though, the coffee was good and the space is cozy. Service was very friendly as well.”
“Growing up, this was my parents date spot when we would visit my aunt who lived in hallowell at the time. It was a bit mythical in my mind from their tales of it when they came home and I can't believe that it lived up to the myth, 35 years later! Just that alone makes this experience wonderful. We each got specials, the crispy haddock (which was fish and chips without the fries) for me and the steak au poivre for my partner. Both of us would get it again. The best part of the meal was the peanut butter fudge swirl pie, which was the best dessert I've had at a restaurant in years. I was not expecting much but it was whipped really well and didn't feel heavy, which is a miracle with peanut butter. We were upstairs, they ask if you can do stairs when making reservations. It's definitely eclectic in the decor and it felt like there was something to admire anywhere you looked. There was a large party next to us that were a bit loud- it was so quiet once they left. It's not cheap but it's worth it and it's been around for decades but it's not stuffy at all.”
“Been eating Thai at Pinto since they opened. Best Thai in town!! Consistently excellent food, and the online ordering system is easy peasy, and there are ways to add custom instructions while ordering. Just has Pad See Ew with duck. SO good. Never disappointed!!”
“Amazing! Just had brunch there with some friends and family. I had a breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheddar and bacon on a homemade biscuit - it was THE BEST breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Barbara was our server and was superb! So glad we happened upon this place. Highly recommend!”
“My husband and myself have been visiting this location since they opened and usually celebrate the end of the week by ordering breakfast from Sunrise. Our food is always ready by the time we arrive to the store, is still hot, and delicious. The employees are always so kind and welcoming. 10/10 would recommend Sunrise Bagel to friends and family :)”
“Great atmosphere and the food truly was something you need to experience. I was so pleased with the food and service I asked to speak with the manager just to let her know how great our experience was. This place deserves 10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Try the crab cakes, muscles and steak, potatoes and green beans. It was all perfect!!”
“This morning I went to Bintliff’s corner for the first time. I highly recommend you go! The pastry display case is gorgeous. The pastries don’t only just look pretty they are delicious! The environment was welcoming and the friendly staff members have excellent customer service skills. I had their fruit danish. This danish was made with love… you can tell by the taste that the pastries are made from scratch and are fresh daily. With the fresh fruit, flaky layers, and delicious filling this pastry is hands-down, the best danish I have ever had. I plan to return soon to eat some of their many food selections for brunch.”
