My husband and I arrived at Benkay at around 7:40 last Sunday and stood at the host stand, while the waitresses, somewhat busy, ignored us. We tried to get their attention and at one point the waitress in charge asked if we were there to pick up food but ran off when we said we wanted a table. We had some friends dining so we waited and chatted with our friends for about 15 minutes, figuring that the waitress or host would eventually seat us. At around 7:55 the waitress in charge, a smaller woman came up to us and asked if she could help us. We said we would like a table and she said sorry we close at 8. It used to be my favorite sushi restaurant, but now it's the place where I've experienced the rudest treatment ever. If she had said to us straight off that they were closing in 20 minutes it would have been fine.

I highly recommend visiting at least once. The seafood is incredibly fresh, which makes it taste deliciously sweet. The flavor and service are top-notch. If you live nearby, it's the kind of taste you'd want to enjoy every day.

Sushi roll $24, huge, needed to break up with chopsticks. Not a whole lot of sushi and a whole lot of rice. Soup was 16 dollars and not worth it. Sake was 22 dollars. Will not be back here.

Love this new location. This is my second time at Benkay and it was another great experience. We enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar and watching rolls be made while we enjoyed our delicious seaweed salads and edamame appetizers. While the nigiri and rolls were delicious, the Japanese ice cream sandwich was something new that I absolutely loved. The mochi ice cream was another great option, hot green tea can warm you up on a cold night, and a great selection of bar drinks can accommodate anyone's preferences. I loved that they offer specials completely different from their menu offerings as well. The service was friendly and the restaurant quiet and enjoyable.

This place was fantastic, while on the pricey side, the food was amazing! The service was friendly, and the inside has a the simple decor you would expect in a sushi place. The shrimp shumai was delicious as was the sushi. We ordered the volcano roll not realizing how huge it was but it's fine as it was the best part of the meal and we ended up bringing it home to finish. If you have a special occasion or are just in the mood to treat yo self I would highly recommend Benkay!

The sushi was disappointing. It's not cheap and far from being great.

My buddy comes in twice a year for a few weeks and we HAVE to stop at Benkay. Best sushi in town!!! Even when I don't have family in, this is a go to spot.
