Ok place wasn't crazy about the menu . Not my place . I would say it is more for casual thing than a real date

Taphouse is great. Excellent food, great staff, some of the best beer in town on tap.

I love my local Whole Foods. They are always well staffed and stocked and such a friendly crew.

Wasn't super impressed. Not a lot of menu options and my burger was completely burnt.

Great beer selection. Tanya was super helpful with navigating the beer selection, food options, and spots of local interest.

This small restaurant/pub is physically attached to the Whole Foods Market in Portland Maine. It is a very busy supermarket area and the traffic in and out of this pub is amazing. Don’t get me wrong about the quality of the food and the personnel, all of which were excellent. However, the foot traffic and noise level, some of which is also from the Whole Foods detracts from the dining experience.

So, i've often considered stopping into the Somerset Tap House while shopping at Whole Foods, but never had the time. Since the beloved Sumo tangerine is now stocked in store, I am at Whole Foods roughly once (sometimes twice) a day. Last Thursday night, after stocking up on 3 Sumos to get me through the next day, my husband and I decided to check out STH. Uh-oh, our 17 year old had already ordered a burrito bowl in the store! Crap! I walk in and asked the bartender if we can come in with prepared food from the store. NO PROBLEM!!! To say that this began a dinner experience with a staff that was crazy accommodating was an understatement. So, we settle into a very comfy table with the comfort on one side of a booth to check out the menu. There is live music playing; a super talented guitarist, taking requests! The menu is limited but interesting and prices seem reasonable. We finally settle on a dozen BBQ chicken wings, a burger and a salad with apples and blue cheese. When ordering, I spied someone else's rosemary and parmesan fries and REALLY wanted some. Could I get a half order? NO PROBLEM!!! While waiting, we sunk into the velvet seat and quietly san along with the guitarist. When food arrived, it turned out that even people who have just eaten a burrito bowl, still have room for more. We all loved the wings, and honestly at $7 a dozen were absolutely worth it. My husband loved his burger. My salad accidentally came with chicken which was ok, but I had not chosen to add it on when ordering. NO PROBLEM!!! Keep the chicken, no extra charge! The "half" order of fries was HUGE and very, very good. Plenty for sharing! I am definitely rethinking this attaching-dinner-to-grocery-shopping-thing. This is a one-stop combo that is definitely worth considering!

Was excited to try this place out as I often shop at Whole Foods. We were a little confused though. The bartender came to take our drink order and I asked for another minute to look at the beer list. He then proceeded to forget about us for the next 25 min. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to order at the bar or if I would actually be served. We just walked out as the place became more busy and the bartender was clearly not coming back to our table any time soon. Unfortunate, because I really would have liked to try the food.

Small but creative menu with an awesome drink selection.

Service was very good considering it was one bartender doing the bar and whole dinning room. The kitchen was behind. But the girl back there did a good job. We waited a little bit longer than we should have and with a child that sucks, but the food was so good that we quickly forgot! Wings and celery blue cheese was amazing. My wife had fried cauliflower and curried carrot soup..she loved both.. great little bar inside Whole Foods.. will be returning!

For a joint in WF, it has its pluses and minuses. First off, they did a nice job with the space and my friend pointed out how great the bar is that they have an ice rim to keep your drinks cold while you hang out. Also, ample parking is always a plus. I went on a Saturday and it was empty. I sat at the bar, and while the bartender was very pleasant, he moved at a glacial pace. I think if I enjoyed beer this would be a much better place for me.
