The meatball pho is delicious. The broth is super clean and incredibly flavorful. The steamed dumplings are perfect little pillows. You should definitely order these. This is my favorite pho spot as of now in Portland.

The best Vietnamese I’ve found in Portland. It’s not glamorous, but the people are kind and the food is fantastic!

Ordered the beef pho. It had a few pieces of sliced beef in it and some sort of a sausage that was absolutely terrible. Not supposed to be in it according to a friend of mine that has eaten there. The fried dumplings were good. The shrimp spring rolls were fair.I do not recommend this restaurant.

How have I driven by this place without stopping for YEARS? Today my wife and I stopped in for a couple of tofu bahn mis and they were fantastic. Fresh vegetables on lovely, crispy bread with an outstanding, flavorful sauce. The thai tea was superb as well, and super friendly service. We will be regulars from now on; great prices too.Vegetarian options: They seem to have a tofu version of every dish. Only tried the bahn mi and it was fire.Parking: Lot can be a bit tight, but we found a spot quickly.

The soup tasted 100% like it was made with the powdered bullion that comes in a giant container at Asian grocery stores. I did not detect the telltale stickiness of a bone broth in their broth or anything remotely related to star anise. They did provide a nice selection of herbs with their pho. It seemed popular with the local workman at lunch time and I'd be willing to try there banh mi

The pho here is the best I’ve ever had!!! It’s seriously scrumptious and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The boba and service is amazing too ❤️ I told all my friends to come here and they also loved it!

The Banh Mi sandwich I ordered was full of fresh vegetables and delicious pickled daikon. The sandwich was generous sized full of meat and pate and satisfying with the right amount of salty sweet and spicy fresh jalapeño. The bread is perfectly baked Viet-French style. It looked bigger and better than the sandwich on the ad. Clean seating and friendly staff. The experience brought me back to South Asia and my time dining in a Vietnamese community. Keep up the good work folks! Maine has an underrepresented Vietnamese food scene: I hope someday someone brings back traditional dishes like Bun Mang Vit. (Spicy Duck Vermicelli Soup).

What a kickass tofu banh mi!!!! Never had one quite like the way Sun Vietnamese Restaurant made it, and I 100% recommend it. The gal who took my order was also so dang sweet and kind -- I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Portland! (Thanks for making my long drive to Boston so nice!)

9/30/23 - My stomach wasn't feeling great with anxiety travel so was happy to find a place with soup. The gentleman who took our order was super nice. The pho was super delicious. I would love to come back and eat here again if we visit this area again.

Whatever you think the best pho is, you’re wrong. Hands down the best pho I’ve ever had. Try the steamed dumplings as well. You can get so much food for such a fair price, definitely worth a visit.

I like the restaurant and the staff were incredibly nice and friendly, but the pho soup was just average at best. It had jellied beef as the meat which just isn't my favorite. Four out of five.
