Reviews for The Apohadion Theater

Really cool, community-focused arts and entertainment venue in West Bayside. It's pretty small inside the venue itself, but they host some great events, including featuring lots of local arts/artists and bringing in some more well-established names. Last year I went to a film fest that they brought to Portland, and they also had Mal Blum from Brooklyn over the summer. I highly recommend attending an event here! There is a cash bar.

The Aphohadion is a tiny live performance venue located in a profoundly unfashionable neighborhood in Bayside, Portland Maine. There is minimal signage identifying the place, I finally spotted a hip young lady having a smoke near an open door and slipped in. The place is maybe 30×40 feet or so, with room for a generous stage, 5 or 6 cocktail tables and a small bar. It would be easy to get a wheelchair in here. A comfy couch and a few more chairs are available. The bar is beer, full review
I just saw Richard Buckner there. It was an acoustic show, but your could hear Buckner clearly. It's a very intimate stage, and you have a feeling you're attending some underground show in a Bohemian venue in an old warehouse. Because it kind of is. Good selection of local beer, and staff was really welcoming and friendly. Parking is on street, but fairly available. Seating ranges from vintage kitchen chairs to recycled restaurant chairs, and maybe even a couple plush chairs full review
