The Snug Reviews
One of the bartenders was extremely slow with our order and made various rude comments to my friends when we were at this bar-one of which was racially based. She appeared to be a hit with the locals, but, at one point, she put her hands around my friends neck and was trying to choke her? It's an interesting story to tell... but I think it would have been a much better time if we had not encountered her.
Such an amazing spot! Not crowded, which was a huge plus. We popped in on a Saturday, and unbeknownst to us, they do have weekend happy hours (5-7), so our total for three draft beers and a canned cider was only $15! The vibe is awesome--definitely not a dive bar, but a casual, intimate irish pub. They have tall, private booths which are great for groups or dates. We will be back!
Came in early evening and place was empty. Soon some regulars slowly crept in giving the place some neighborhood atmosphere. Kevin was my tap tender and gave me some suggestions on places to get dinner, as it was my first time in Maine, and more specifically Portland.
