Have to be honest, super disappointed with this place. Have ordered take out from here a couple of times. The burgers are flavorful but thin as paper. For the price you pay it's pretty outrageous. I went back today with my husband and 10 month daughter around 3pm to give it another try, only to find out they aren't baby friendly... the place was pretty dead. The hostess was very nice when explaining they don't offer high chairs and they are more of a bar/don't have a kids menu...I couldn't help but feel extremely offended. What the f? We weren't expecting to order off of a kids menu. Any moms out there reading this: avoid this place.

Lovely spot to sit outside and great music played by Ross Gregor Adam, who plays Irish music using seemingly every instrument under the sun. Food was decent and wine a good price. I'll be back again when Ross is playing.

I have to be honest, based on some prior experiences before they totally changed the menu and all that, I wasn't expecting much when I ordered tonight. I was so wrong. The burger was amazing. The bun was fantastic quality and perfectly toasted.... the patty itself was sooooo flavorful!! The mile high pb cake was to die for. The brisket on top of the brisket tacos was also ridiculously flavorful. The shell of the taco was well done... but I have to say the Mac n cheese aspect was total mush. It's a shame because the flavor of it was on point. I ate all the brisket off them and ditched the rest... and was honestly still pretty happy.

Attended their MardiGras celebration as I'd just gotten back from it in NOLA. I had the gumbo and oh my lawd, it was delicious! It tasted exactly what I had been eating down south. It was my first time there but I assure it won't be my last. Love the decore/vibe! Was fortunate to meet the owner and heard his plans for a future menu which means I'll be there on a regular basis. If you're in Portland and miss visiting, tsk tsk tsk. Put it in your rotation if you live locally.

I am from out of town and was looking for a good burger and The Yard was recommended. When we (my girlfriend and myself) came the first time, it was a Sunday and only served brunch (no burger). We tried again a month later and I was really looking forward to the blueberry burger. While the service, atmosphere, and everything else was great, I was disappointed in the burger. I'm surprised it is so highly rated and makes me question the quality of locals' palates.

Food was good, we dined in the bubble, great fun but definitely not warm (it was 19d out) and unfortunately the view was of construction but the server was nice and it was great to get out in a covid safe way!

The Yard had burger specials on Super Bowl Sunday, so we thought we'd try it out. Bar atmosphere. Burgers were too greasy. Not many other alternatives on the menu. The fries were great though. This would be a great place to meet friends and have drinks, not to dine.

Salad, smash burgers, locally crafted beer, intimidatingly large shakes and desserts. This spot has it all. The shakes are so good that you almost may want to order them before the food. With a jovial atmosphere this is a great place to stop in for a bite to eat, a drink or a full sit down experience. Neighboring the back cove area they aren't far from the hub of restaurants located in the Old Port or Kennedy Park area.

Limited food menu the day we stopped in but the food came out quickly and was fine. Server was quick and friendly so no concerns there. The beer was pricey ($10 for Lunch IPA) and it was served in a plastic mug. At that price, it should be served in glassware IMHO. We sat inside but the the outdoor heated igloos seemed like a fun way to go.

We had a niceevening, and I'm sure it would have been better if it had not been Christmas eve.For every good aspect, there was also a not so good one. Nothing was outright bad, but so many things could have been better. Our reservation for a dome was made for 6pm, but when we arrived we were told the kitchen was closing at 6pm, so we had to rush or food choices and after we did, it took quite a while for the food to arrive (especially with so little customers). The food was mostly very good, except for two burgers being kind of dry and more bland then expected. The drinks were excellent and not too overpriced though. The atmosphere was beautiful, with nice amenities (Bluetooth speaker, good wifi, blankets, a heater)...but the heater didn't warm the whole area completely and the table was very small and positioned too far from the seating. It was more like a coffee table. Very difficult for a group of six to eat at.The staff was very friendly and and did their jobs well in the cold. All the respect for them.Overall, our visit was good, but could have been great. Definitely going to visit again on an evening that isn't a winter holiday.

Me and a friend recently visited the yard and were "greeted" by a rather unpleasant woman behind the bar. She didn't seem to want to welcome our business but instead complained how busy it was, over her shoulder in the background was someone shouting from the kitchen hatch. They were clearly very angry and shouted at a few of the waiting staff over the course of our visit. The atmosphere was very hostile and the place was not even at capacity. The plastic cups that drinks were served in were dirty but the food was actually decent when it arrived. The outside area with the fire pits looked nice, just a shame about the staff and service. When we paid the disgruntled woman at the bar was bending over and quaffing a burger in between doing other things. Either the owners don't give out breaks to their staff or she just couldn't wait to be in private to eat. Not exactly a great look, especially when bending over revealed lots of flesh and the rear. I think the Yard has the potential to be a good venue but it's a little rough around the edges. Wilson BBQ next door is great if you are in the area.

The brisket burger with blueberry BBQ sauce was delicious and the cocktails ? were stella. This restaurant has a nice trendy/cozy feeling where you'd easily forget about the clock during your visit. I will be returning!

We had appetizers and a burger while listening to the one man band. Nice option to have for a night out. The igloos were all full, but those look like a neat experience if you can book one!

I was pretty disappointed in this place. We got three burgers, an appetizer, and four beers and it was $190. We paid that bill then decided to stay for the live music, I ordered a martini and it literally was straight vodka with no olives? And $14. The smell of the place is also really jarring. I know it's probably not their fault, but it's like, you're gonna charge that much money and make me nauseous the whole time? It's rich, white clientele that can't hold their alcohol and are rude to the servers. It's the absolute epitome of the Portland gentrification problem. Cannot recommend, sorry

I'm not one to leave a review. Especially a bad one. But our experience was so bad that we felt a need to let the community know what a terribly run place this is. The Yard isn't even deserving of one star. The service was so bad it was almost comical. We waited a solid 45 minutes for a beer. And then it took an hour for our food to come out cold and barely edible. The table next to us was overcharged and the management tried to argue with them before admitting to their mistake. How this place remains to stay in business is absolutely dumbfounding. We should have known better by the lack of customers while the restaurant (Wilson's BBQ) next door was jam packed. There are so many better options in Portland for better food and drinks from businesses that will appreciate your patronage. And to top it off, not one staff member, server, waitress, bartender, management or cook was wearing a mask. Don't waste your time, money or life.
