Be aware, for those not use to bars or cities. It's not like a restaurant. It's kinda like those, hole in the wall bars in Colorado. The vibe was very friendly and chill. The staff like to talk with the customers, many of them you can tell are regular. Our server, who was also bartender, waiter, cashier... low staff. We understood, we were patient. Drinks were awesome, food was messy. Very fresh, and hot. Be careful not to burn you mouth on delicious food? My suggestion is to let it cool at bit if your sensitive. The jello shot was interesting, vodka I think. Definitely stop by when you have the time and want to chill for a bit.
This place is always full! I decided to go around 9p.m. No crowd at all. After the first bites of fries I KNEW why it stayed busy. Some really good food. Service was good as well.
Perfect place to satisfy your need for good stick to your ribs food.
Sat outside. We all ordered a different type of macaroni and cheese and all loved ours. For 10 dollars at lunch in Portland to have macaroni and cheese with yummy BBQ chicken was fantastic. They gave us takeout containers outside which was nice for leftovers. Nice amount of food and it came out quickly.
Greatest customer service in Portland! We were looking for a late night spot for food in downtown Portland after a long day of travel from Connecticut, and someone referred Tomaso's to us. Drinks and food did not disappoint. Cool, laid back atmosphere.
Friendly dive bar with a welcoming bartender. There was only one bar on draught; the rest are in cans, but there was a good selection.
Buffalo Wings are really good here. Getting tall boy beers is fun too
We stumbled across this place when the wait for Duck Fat was 2&1/2 hours. Were we bummed? Well, at first we were TBH. But then? Heck no! Our frowns turned upside down the moment we tasted the insanely delicious food at Tomaso’s Canteen! Seriously. The food here is out of this world tasty! It is definitely NOT health food. We got the Brussel Sprouts and Dump Truck Fries to start. Then our boys got Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese and a Buffalo Chicken sandwich and my wife and I shared a Sausage Bomb sandwich and fries. The boys got kiddie cocktails while my wife and dad got real cocktails. DO NOT HESITATE! This place is ding dang tasty!
Stopped for quick Lunch. Small unassuming place.
Great place, reasonably priced, had the hamburger with everything on it medium rare and a grown up PB&J (PBR tall boy and a shot of jack) definitely coming back. Please Check them out if your nearby, good place to hang out and skip the crowd.
An amazing find on a crowded Sunday visiting downtown Portland. Best Mac and Cheese we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Amazing burger and fries. Quick and friendly service from a very funny and personable bartender. Highly recommended!
Loved this place. Lunch and drinks. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices ($4 tall boys). Big craft beer selection. Tasty fries
Really great food. Had Mac and cheese, chicken sandwiches and chicken bombs. Very reasonable prices, and outstanding service - rare in Portland. Great cocktails as well. Prices are great as well!
I was surprised to see place like this running business. This place should be shut down for many reasons by health department. Kitchen was the worse place, it gave me panic attack just looking at it, bathroom was another area. We as family decided to grab a bite before heading back to airport. A guy takes our order & for 40 minutes had gone by no order was served. When we asked our waiter about our order he replied he has no idea, he is the only person running the show & has no control over who is taking orders in the kitchen. Furthermore he asked us if we would like to cancel our order? Which we did. Very poor customer service & dirty place to dine at.. I feel like calling health department at this point..
Drinks and Bar food: 4.25 out of 5 Awesome drink selection. Bartender had a slightly heavier hand, but who's complaining -- not I. My partner and I also ordered food in addition to our drinks. I enjoyed my wings, cooked nicely and with that Thai sweet chili sauce. I'm not typically the one to order fried pickles, but that was great. The mac n cheese was ok, more like a heaping amount of noodles with cheese sprinkled in. The look on my partner's face was priceless, definitely laughed my ass off and that was worth it. Environment: 5 Out 5 A ton of outdoor seating. Space is smaller inside, but chill vibes. Even had gender-neutral restrooms!! Service: 5 out of 5 Jeff was fantastic. Friendly and great server. Overall: 4.5 Out 5 Loved the overall experience. Reminds me a lot of Portland, OR and Denver, CO. One of the local spots still open around 9pm. Definitely one of Portland's local watering holes and for good reason! Drink prices are not unreasonable and food tasted great. Food wise stick to the fried foods. Definitely coming back when in Portland, ME!
