“The food is fantastic. But even better was the owner and her son. So pleasant and genuinely kind.. it was a breath of fresh air when all it seems to be is negativity around lately. I am so glad I went for a pick me up of some sushi the other night because the interaction with them was a pick me up in itself. The food being perfect was a bonus “
“Cozy place. Not sure if I'd go here again as it's quite a bit out of my way. There are other ethnic foods available in the area and might try those places when in the area next time. That being said, the food was good. I've had better.Service was ok. We had to ask for plates for our appetizers.“
“This place really is a 10/10 awesome! The food, the ambiance, and the service are consistently the best. Never have I had a bad experience, hence I keep coming back. Whether it's date night or a drive by pick up, this restaurant is quite exceptional. The lobster roll and the sky roll are my personal favorites. I don't have pictures bc I always end up dining and eating it before I remember to take pictures. I will say this, the rolls are more picture perfect if you dine in. You don't quite get the divine visual when you do pick up. But the taste is always phenomenal. Keep up the good work guys you are knocking it out there park.“
“I must express profound disappointment and palpable frustration with our recent dining experience at Benihana. The entire meal felt like a series of unfortunate events. To begin with, my shrimp was so charred it was nearly inedible. More bafflingly, our cook felt it apt to throw food at us, a gesture neither entertaining nor appropriate. My sister clearly informed the cook of her mushroom and shellfish allergies, yet he carelessly used the same utensils for her dish, causing an immediate allergic reaction. My brother also tried, multiple times, to clarify his order, only to be ignored; the cook placed what he deemed fit onto his plate. I ordered the trio, and while he confirmed my order, he only gave me shrimp and steak. I expressed to him that I didn't receive my chicken, but was met with an attitude. He questioned why I didn't clarify at the start. I reminded him that I had indeed specified my order when he initially asked, and it was even written down on the order sheet he was using. Despite the evidence, he seemed uninterested in rectifying the oversight and continued to display a dismissive demeanor. This lack of attention to detail and blatant disregard for customer communication left me deeply frustrated and tainted our entire dining experience. The indifference continued when my niece and her father requested double rice, only to be met with evident reluctance. And later, when I inquired about sauce, the response came with a touch of disdain, suggesting such requests should have been made at the outset. Our intention for visiting Benihana was to celebrate my niece's dance competition success. But the evening was anything but celebratory. As we were leaving, hoping to address our concerns, I asked the hosting stand for additional contacts or a manager. They vaguely suggested calling back the next day, all while standing around, exuding a palpable disinterest. Given this regrettable and frustrating experience, I firmly believe seeking a refund is both appropriate and warranted.“
“First time here - not the last time.Very clean restaurant with beautiful aesthetics. Service was great. We had the S&T and Triple Fish Sushi, Tuna Tataki, Avocado salads, Miso soup, and a complimentary dessert with fried Oreos. Everything was fresh and presentation was beautiful! Thank you for having us!“
“Always appreciate when the menu has several vegan options and labels them clearly. Our waiter, Jacob, was excellent at making sure we were taken care of during our meal and saved me from a heart attack when he sprinted outside to hand me the laptop I’d left behind! Much appreciated!“
“We went the day after they opened so we knew they would be packed, and they were. Our food wasn’t ready when we got there because they had alot going on and burned the rice. Instead of giving us the burned food they just remade it and when my husband asked for an extra bowl of rice they wouldn’t let him pay for it. The food was amazing as usual and the customer service was top tier.“
“What a beautiful, vibey restaurant in Ferndale. Love it! We went at prime time on a Saturday and were seated pretty much right away for our 7:30 reservation. The ambiance is lively and fun without being too loud, the service was great even though they were short-staffed, and the food and cocktails were top-notch.Our handsome waiter took the time to answer all of our questions and make suggestions, and even though he gave us a heads up that they were short that night, I don't think we would have even noticed. I really loved the 'mist over kanto' cocktail - made with mezcal and citrus - it's so pretty and tasty without being too smoky or too sweet - perfectly balanced. The 3 of us split 2 sushi rolls and each had an entree. The sushi was so good and fresh - I highly recommend both rolls - the Tigerlily and the Kani roll. The Tigerlily is made with beautiful salmon and the Kani with the most delicious fresh snow crab - I want to go back just for that one. It's so sweet and delicious. My 2 friends went with the waiter's suggestion of the Katsucurry - it looked and smelled divine. I definitely want to try that one next time. I ordered the Suzuki, which is Japanese sea bass in a miso buerre blanc - it was surprisingly sweet, but tasted really good with the fish, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. Tender, moist and flavorful. It is served with a pretty salad, but that part needed seasoning - I added soy sauce, and it was pretty good. I didn't love the amount of strong onions on it though - I'd suggest that they soak those first - they were fairly overpowering, and I just pushed them to the side. Still a good dish.I am already looking forward to returning.Parking: The lot across the street is the best lot.“
“I was excited about a Japanese restaurant in the city of Detroit. The fried chicken and edamame were delicious, but the other robatayaki and seafood dishes had a smell, which I don't know if they were using old ingredients or transfer from the refrigerator smell, I was disappointed. They should store food properly...I was even more disappointed because their service and restaurant atmosphere was really great.“
“Outstanding Sushi: Expertly prepared and delicious, Nami Sushi serves some of the best sushi I've had in the US. The eel avacado roll, a requested variation of their eel cucumber roll, was the tastiest I've had anywhere in 5+ years, maybe ever. If you haven't tried the Omusubi, make sure to order one of these finely crafted triangular pockets of rice with yummy fillings. Or enjoy one of their fresh Donburi Bowls. Everything we've had has been good. The owners are nice and aim to please. I don't normally eat at food trucks or trailers, but this is my one no-brainer exception. A+.“
