“I have been going here since I was in high school. I joined the air force and after 3 years I came back and they still remembered me. I was so busy talking to them when I left that I forgot my credit card. A year later I came back and they still had my credit card and remembered to give it back to me.10/10 the best restaurant in all of metro detroit. Tbh I was a little skeptical bc good Thai food can be hard to come by these days, but Saab Sis Thai is a keeper:- Generous portions.- Reasonable prices.- Great balance of flavors (Just a reminder that Thai medium can be quite spicy haha).In particular, the grilled tilapia was great! (Pro tip: kindly ask for a reheat and they will refry the other side so both sides are crispy.) The balance between the fish and the sauce was ?.The papaya salad Laos style with the crab was a great accompaniment to the pineapple fried rice and pad Thai entrees we ordered.The service and vibe was also on point. Keep in mind the place isn’t that big, so if you’re coming with a party of 4+ you might want to call ahead.Looking forward to coming back again!Edit: Came back again to make sure the first time wasn’t a fluke. “Best Thai meal at a restaurant I’ve had. Sensational. This place is worth the drive. I see a lot of reviews about small plates. That’s probably if you do the taste testing option. My daughter and I each ordered our own meal and the proportions were large enough to bring leftovers home. The flavors are incredible. They are deep and layered, and have the perfect spice.My daughter had the Jungle Mussels. The broth could be a meal on its own with the garlic toast to dip in it. The chicken curry (KHAO SOI ) was also the most flavorful version I’ve had. My only pause was the whole drumstick. I would have preferred smaller pieces in the broth than picking apart the chicken off the bone. The Coconut pan cake appetizer was fun and different. So delicious. My daughter had the non-alcoholic blackberry and cardamom tea. I had the Special Thai tea with rum. Both were delicious and complimented the meal well.My daughter was treated with a desert of coconut ice cream with a crumble topping and sauce. Was so good, no other ice cream desert could compare.The service was attentive and had a menu prepared for us to indicate the allergens we needed to avoid. I now have a place I can order all of my favorite Thai dishes, and all of the flavors are on point. “HIGHLY RECOMMEND this family operated restaurant!! I was visiting the area for work trip and stayed at hotel walking distance from Wokabob. Saw the positive reviews and walked over to order dinner to go eat back in my room. So many options I wanted to try - I went with the D-Jay (drunken noodles and chicken shawarma) spice of mild plus. As I was waiting for my meal to be prepared I talked with the owner (wife) Natalie who is so friendly with her service. I told her I will have to come back tomorrow to order another dish it all looked so good! When she handed me my to go order (one meal) I could not believe how heavy the bag was, felt like a lot of food! It was so delicious, a nice heat level, so much flavor and huge portion. I went back for lunch the next day AND ordered another meal for dinner. This time was husband owner “Papi” who I met and I ordered his signature dish of Pineapple fried rice with shrimp kabob and also a shrimp pad Thai. Again, generous portions of tasty fresh food spiced as I liked it mild plus. I ate lunch in the restaurant and took the rest back home for dinner. Food is A + I want to try more dishes next time I am in town. The shrimp very flavorful can taste the high quality ingredients in all dishes I enjoyed. The food is prepared with love and pride. I order it mild since the peanut sauce already gives it a little kick. I make it my own by adding broccoli and chicken. The spring rolls are awesome too.
