“OMG...This place brings you back to when the world used to be normal, people were happy, families connected over going out to eat, and things were affordable. An old old-school pull-up, order, car-hop type place. Comparable to Olympic Broil, but a little better. If Nip 'n Sip was smart they would play up on their uniqueness, rather than changing to become more like the garbage of the 2020s. Granted, the prices are trending higher, but still a great deal. The food is beyond DELICIOUS, portions are great. I've tried the olive burger, chili burger, chili cheese-o fries, fried mushrooms, and the Hammy Sammy. All are perfect, good portions, delicious as hizhell, just AWESOME!!! Love this place, I would eat here every day if I could (it would be an olive burger and something else)!“

Unfortunately tonight our waitress was very slow and when we got there asked for our drink order, she got my wife’s drink but then went and got 8 waters for two different tables then stood behind the bar chatting with another server for at least five minutes. Our friends were leaving asked for their check we told her we were staying but brought us ours too. We paid it but told her we wanted two more waited 15-20 minutes she never came back so we left.“

“I have lived in the area for several years, and drive past Dagwoods almost daily but had never tried it until yesterday. Wonderful food at a great price with great staff. I am personally not much of a sports fan so I didn't get anything out of having the games on, but I know that the main crowd is people watching various athletic events. Not my scene, but if you expect to go into a sports bar on a friday night and not have a game on, you are going to the wrong place! Food was great. We ordered the quintessential bar meal: a burger and fries, which was just spectacular. Two people getting a delicious meal for $18 bucks is unheard of in this city, but it happened here! We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.“

Loved the chicken fried steak(just like homemade but no cleanup), T-bone was cooked perfectly and the cheese curd app is where it's at. That PAINKILLER drink was over the top with the coconut rim. “My server was Kevin. He was so attentive, and so kind. He genuinely was one of the best servers I have ever had there. The manager Andrea was phenomenal. My steak was over cooked but knowing how hard the cooks were working, I was not going to say anything. She noticed before even talking to me. She fixed it immediately and it was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. After bringing my steak back to me, she said “thank you for letting me fix this.” You can tell she is an amazing manager off that statement alone. “The Ave is a Lansing staple, hosting some of the best food in the city and an awesome environment. You can have many different kinds of night at the Ave. You can go there for a nice dinner, you can go there for a drink and a show, or you can go there and get absolutely ripped. All are 5 star experiences, and the people complaining about service at a punk bar like it's an Olive Garden are lame as hell.“

Great food including pizza ( can request gluten free crust) and sandwiches . Some nights they even have live music. Games in their game room to play with others. We got the larger order of the cakes (3), and I was happy to have only half of the stuffed cakes because they are more like dessert for breakfast (oh so good with whipped cream and all). That said, it would have been a bit much for me even after I had been on a 5 day bike ride. The omelette was great and the coffee refills kept flowing consistently.Would definitely go back!“
“New place in town and it has a great ambience utilizing the old train carriage. The food was good but really depends on what you were ordering. My wife's breakfast taco was exceptional while my sandwich was mediocre at best. It was really busy when we went and that could be a reason. The drinks were good but wish that they had more beers available. Will try again in a few months to see if things have changed/improved. Would still recommend as the staff is really friendly and caring.“

“Bangos has been one of our favorite food trucks in the Lansing area for so long. We made sure to stop by The Brew Cafe every time they were there. When we heard they were looking to sell, we got really nervous that we might not be able to eat their food again, but are so happy that they are now inside Strange Matter Coffee! Now that the kitchen is open and running downtown, we had to run and grab some of those Nasty AF potatoes! Easily the best thing on the menu and maybe even our favorite food item of all time.“

“I've used Tony Ms for 2 funeral luncheons and they have been amazing to work with. Melanie is easy to communicate with and made planning a luncheon less stressful during an already stressful time. The wait staff was amazing as well, and even remembered us from the last time we were there.
