“Have been many times before over the past decade, will probably go again. Only reason the star rating went down is that it seems like the portion sizes went down somewhat since the last time we were there, which kinda ruined some of the excitement my husband got to go out and get one of his favorite meals.“
“Not sure why the negative reviews. First time ordering carry out from here. Easy ordering, friendly staff, food was fresh and beautifully presented! I ordered sashimi, nigiri, salad, tuna tataki and rolls. Everything was delicious, as good if not better than other places I've been!! Prices are very fair, you don't want 'cheap' sushi!!! My new go to sushi restaurant!“
“Fun and affordable dinner at this beautiful white mansion built in the 1920’s. We had drinks and shared 3 plates including tuna California rolls along with a shared salad for under $90. Good value - fun. Each of the many rooms (dining areas) are a bit different from one another. But, they have one thing in common - noise level is high.Tough to hear and converse due to the high ceilings and echo noise created by nearby conversation. Also, Irritating to find a “3% Charge Card Processing Fee” was tacked onto our bill with no fanfare. In the “good ole days” the proprietors cost of charge card processing was build into the consumers cost of each menu item. In my view, this is inflationary, as the menu prices were not reduced when the service fee was added. This practice is enough to stop me from returning“
“Today, I had lunch in Novi at Riki Sushi and had a brief opportunity to talk with the chef. In short, I was very, very impressed with the amazingly extensive menu, small, cozy, comfortable surrounding, the chef (lived 40 years in Japan) and very, very wonderful food. I've lived in SF, Chicago and DC and this restaurant equals if not exceeds the wonderful Japanese culinary experiences in these cities.“
“This cute little mom and pop shop is GREAT!!!!The sushi is good. I don't normally like fried rice I've only had it one place I liked it and that was when my friend made me his homemade. But the fried rice at Sushi 1 us phenomenal I loved it it tastes just like my friends homemade rice. I will definitely be back for second and third and and and . I highly recommend Sushi 1 for anyone who is in the mood for some food that tastes homemade.“
“Happy Sushi has been my regular Sushi restaurant for many years. I have always just liked it better than other nearby restaurants. The sushi always tastes fresh and delicious. The staff are very nice. It is a peaceful place to dine in. I recommend it very highly. There are some “fancier” nearby sushi restaurants but the sushi is inferior at most of them. This is definitely my sushi spot in Novi.Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian options but they aren’t denoted specifically. You just have to pick k and choose rolls.Kid-friendliness: Always welcoming of kids. Not many kid specific foods but if they will eat rice or sushi or Asian food, there are options. We’ve always brought our son since he was a baby and have brought other kids in the past.“
“Food was great! Very authentic Korean and good sushi too!We got the hot stone bowl bibimbap, jajang, and steamed dumplings. We also had rainbow rolls and tuna rolls. Everything was very tasty! Portion sizes and prices were as expected and competitive with other Korean restaurants we’ve eaten at in Michigan.Service was great and we were checked on several times throughout our meal.We also enjoyed the opportunity the purchase Korean snacks as we were checking out. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Novi!“
“I had errands to run nearby and stopped in to place an order; the establishment was extremely crowded and understaffed. Yet, although business was really busy, I chose to dine in. It amazed me how the staff handled well such a day. I own a restaurant and understand the situation, also hearing the turmoil of a disgruntled patron made me want to acknowledge and applaud the staff for the dedication they put into their job. The food is also flavorful, I had tom yum soup and Drunken noodles.“
“After a fun dad/son event I decided to treat my 7 year old to the revolving sushi bar he keeps asking to go to. This felt like something straight from a Tokyo street. Overall I was pleased. My son just loved watching the plates go past and portion wise it was good. Most everything is automated. While most dishes travel via one long belt others its come by another belt and or drink robot. The only time we interacted with a person was for the intro, table assignment, and bill pay. Food quality was about as good as a higher end fast food chain. This can't compare to local Novi eateries or Clawson's Noble fish. Still value, taste, and entertainment wise I'll go back for seconds.“
“Although this restaurant has become a permanent take-out only venue, the ambience as you walk in to pick up your food is so authentic Japanese that you believe you’re getting the real deal. This is a favored restaurant in our house for the quality of the food, the authentic experience, and the reasonable prices.“
