“Have tried it twice. 1st time just us to test it. Found the vibe great. Easy going. Lots of choices from beer, wine and seltzers. Bought some bread bites and was not impressed with the taste nor price. Talked to a couple that bought the Royal w/Cheese and they said it was great, agreed it looked great We played some shuffleboard, nice to have though the table needs a little work on its surface. The employs there were 2nd visit we brought a couple of friends after a night at Johnnys. They liked it as we did. Again many choices to drink. Casual table and easy guest to speak with, many of whom were playing various games. Asked to switch the channel on TV and no problem did it right away. Overall we will be back and want to try the burger“
“What a hidden gem! Great diner for breakfast in Royal Oak area. Banana Pecan Waffle was amazing. The candied pecans made a big difference. We also had Corned Beef Hash, pancakes, bacon, plus much more. Portions are huge. You cannot walk away hungry. Hot, fresh coffee, and excellent, friendly service. We can see why the Oak Diner is so poplar. DoorDash delivers! Nostalgic setting, loved the decor. Daily specials and loved the joke of the day board. Counter sitting or dining area. Will be back to try lunch one day.“
“Wow, this was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. We got the wings and torta, which were all amazing. Quick, friendly service. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor. Not a place big enough to sit for a long time since it’s small and busy, but definitely making it a staple place.“
“Absolutely fantastic experience!Other than trying to find the place, which is a bit confusing, everything was spectacular. For anyone not familiar, you have to go to the unmarked door, next to the back door for Alchemi and hit the little button on the call box to use the password.Cocktails were absolutely some of the best I've had...and not overly pricey for what get.Food options were extensive for a cocktail bar of this type and everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The bartender and staff were also extremely helpful and attentive. We will definitely return.Keep up the great work!!!“
“I love this place! I took my son and daughter-in-law there last night for dinner and we were all impressed with our service, food and ambiance. I had the salmon and the flavors were excellent! My son had the chicken tikka and he loved it. My daughter-in-law had the wagyu something, and she loved it! It's expensive, but I recommend it.“
“I stopped here for lunch and ordered the Roast Beef Plate. It is served cafeteria style, and I chose Mashed Potatoes and Gravy along with Mac n Cheese along with Corn. The service was quick and very friendly. You can tell the servers have been working there a long time. The beef was tender and juicy. The Mac n Cheese was a little bland and the corn was fine.Overall, the price was a bit on the expensive side, but not outrageous considering the quality of the meat. I will stop here again.“
“We popped in randomly after discovering they have GF crepes and everything was delicious! We split a sweet and savory crepe and were left feeling satisfied but not stuffed. Service is quick and there’s lots of variety in their offerings. We’ll be back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and vegan options (not celiac safe)“
“Stellar sliders, solid shakes, and chill atmosphereI ordered a double-cheeseburger slider and vanilla shake. The Slider: the bun is not cakey but rather a soft sponge-type bread that absorbs the juice of the burger well. This leaves a great meat-to-bun ratio, and the cheese melt is glorious, covering every part of the patty. I witnessed the maestro on the grill as he made my sliders, and he used the tried and true "pinch and pull" method of lifting the patty off the grill. I then saw him scrap the melted cheese on the grill and add it to the burger. It was a marvelous process to witness and a magical taste to experience. The sliders were hot, cheezy, and accompanied by caramelized onions and a touch of ketchup added for some sweetness. I was highly impressed by the double-cheeseburger sliders I ordered, so much so that I ate 5 in total. The Shake: It was creamy and delicious, and it was just right in that Goldilocks zone of not being too thick and not too milky.I ate lunch on a Sunday, and there were only a few other diners, so it was a very calm and chill environment to enjoy my food in. The service was prompt and respectful. I was not waiting long either for my order to be taken or delivered.Parking: Plenty of paid parking on Main Street but there are parking garages nearby that are free for the first 2 hours. I parked a 5 min walk away in the neighborhoods so I could park for free and enjoy the nice weather on my walk.“
“Fantastic food. Super friendly and very helpful staff. The inside has plenty of tv’s and nice paint along with some nice artwork. Bathroom’s are very clean and nicely colored to blend in with the surroundings. Parking lot is a bit tight, but plenty of parking and easy to navigate.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access“

“I enjoyed my evening at Hopcat Royal Oak. The food was great; Cosmik fries are sensational. The Killer Mac and Cheese is very tasty. The beer menu is excellent. Our servers were quick, attentive and gregarious; they made us feel welcome and valued. It's a great spot to hang out with friends or just relax after work.“
“Wait staff is amazing and friendly very helpful. Food is a little pricey but so is everything else but very yummy.Vegetarian options: My veggie omelette was incredible and the hash browns are not shredded they are sliced and delicious ??Kid-friendliness: Kid menu itemsWheelchair accessibility: Spots an ramp available“
“Friendly staff and had a wonderful time enjoying the quiet atmosphere and dimmed lights for the evening. The entree portions are excellent in quality and size and you’ll definitely wanna try something off the dessert menu before leaving. The French onion soup is superbWheelchair accessibility: Ramp to the entrance door“
“The wait staff was very polite and friendly. One gentleman fed the parking meter for me. Latoya was very pleasant. Chef Dwayne sat and talked with us . The Walleye was exceptional. On top of that the Chef sent my wife home with a delicious piece of chocolate cake.“
“After having a burger at Big Boy today for lunch I almost didn't order one at Redcoat, but I was told it was a must so I got The Brasserie. Holy cow am I glad I did. No offense to Big Boy but they weren't even on the same playing field as each other! These burgers have so much flavor and all the ingredients are clearly high quality, including the thick cut bacon. As an added bonus, they have a killer beer menu. I would love for them to expand their British beer options (being a British tavern and all) but there were so many cool options, choosing was not a problem.Service was fast & friendly, the restrooms were clean, and everyone at my table had a great meal.“
“It's was a nice experience. The food was good, the service was great, it wasn't expensive and we had a really cute waitress. All in all, it was a great experience.Kid-friendliness: Take the little ones hereWheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible“
“The place is busy on Wednesday @ 1 p.m.I was greeted quickly and by a friendly woman, shown to a seat immediately.I'd planned to get a couple of Coneys but saw the little display for Lenten specials. It had walleye on it so I never even picked up the regular menu, just ordered the sandwich straight away. While I awaited my order,I noticed several servers greeting & conversing with what were obviously regular customers. Always a good sign.My sandwich was very nice, lightly breaded and hot. I need to come back and have the dinnerThe floor was a bit sticky in spots, especially in the men's room. The material on some of the booths is well-worn.Parking: Gobs of spaceWheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room between, and at, the tables & booths“
“Very friendly neighborhood restaurant. Breakfast, lunch or dinner with breakfast items available all day.Varied menu with lots of options. Friendly and accommodating staff. Seniors and kid friendly.Kid-friendliness: Chairs for little kids and kid menu itemsWheelchair accessibility: Easy access“
“The food was fresh, well put together, and extremely delicious, and I've been to a few decent Mediterranean places in the metro Detroit area-- I'd say it's top 3 on taste. Service was fast, staff was VERY friendly and courteous. I will be back to this place time and time again when I'm in the Royal Oak area. Highly recommend the bowls as you can have them exactly as you want.“
“The atmosphere is great. The waiter J was good. The food was delicious. The specialty drinks have no price on the menu and we didn't pay attention before ordering. They were $12+ a piece. They were very strong with liqueur which some may like and others not so much. The cornbread is extra not included...that was strange. It did come with 1 slice of bread and that was hard. If you pick brisket or ribs it is extra on the 2-3 meat meal. They did have half off appetizers while we were there and the fried green beans and sauce were excellent. You do have to pay for parking because it's downtown. Overall it was a good experience but a little expensive at $86 + tip for two.Parking: Plenty of spots“
“Omg!!! Stopped in here for dinner with a group of friends and I was blown away!! I got the burger with queso on it and WOW. It was probably the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. Our food didn’t take long, our service was good, and the food was incredible. 10/10!!!“
“I just love everything about this place. The food is ALWAYS delicious. A good selection of beer and cider, as well as a full bar. Plenty of TVs with any sport in you could hope for. Lots of seating. Sometimes a bit of a wait or takes a while for food to come out but I don't mind that here!“
“Had a Zoe’s skillet and it easy surpassed my expectations when it comes to taste. Service was excellent, Our server Ray was more than happy to take our order and provide us with great customer service skills. Will be back again for Sunday Breakfast!!“
“For me Olga's has always been a great place to get some quick and satisfying comfort meal. Today my experience was even better. I was greeted and helped by Tory at the counter who was knowledgeable and kind. Cook Tyler had some quirky commentary that made my kiddos laugh. Manager Kat was quick to bring the food out and truly helpful. We ended our meal by getting help from Shanee who helped me pack up the extras to take home. This crew of people seem to genuinely enjoy the work they are doing and it shines in the guest experience. Keep doing what you doing. It was a great visit.“
“My first experience with First Watch was some years ago, in Pikesville, MD. I was so excited that they were building locations nearby in Michigan. This visit was just as nice. They were very busy (Saturday, lunch time), so our server was excused for not bringing a couple of items. Of course, it was a bit noisy, but the atmosphere was good. The food was very tasty & mine was dine exactly how I'd wanted it. We had a Salmon Benedict, a classic breakfast (eggs, artisans toast and seasoned potato bites). Coffee was great. I will absolutely return to this or another location.“
“Went for valentines day. Pianists were really good, lively, knew a variety of songs. Food was decent, I give it a B. Only problem was with wait staff. Unfortunately, we had a waitress who was on her very first shift and was kind if clueless. I don't blame her, that was a bad choice for management to put her on that day. It was our first time there so it definitely affected our experience.“
“Now the place is open from 4:00 to 9:00 pm with delicious Mexican cuisine, is incredible tasting, the fish tacos! So good. I almost cry ? the Tortilla soup is spectacular, and the desserts are out of this world.Since they just start opening for dinner the restaurant called "Café de Olla" (coffee from a pot) the place is not busy at all, and we were lucky to enjoy all this wonderful dishes with a tasty margarita and a great Sangria. You have to try this new spot in a usual place.“
“My favorite place in Royal Oak, especially on Friday and Saturday night. The bartenders are amazing and always so quick! The inside vibe makes it seem like a little hidden gem! I’ve haven’t ate there yet but the food smells amazing an I definitely will get something to snack on next time! You won’t be disappointed you stop in:)“
“This is one of the best places in Royal Oak for upscale food. I'd put it up against Selden Standard any day. I had the best halibut in my life there, and a beet and celery root appetizer that was absolutely astounding. Just a great foodie experience. The problem we had is the ventilation. The grill was throwing exhaust into the restaurant causing my date's eyes to burn, and the next day my clothes smelled like a deep fryer. It dampened an otherwise fantastic experience.“
