“Wonderful food and service. Lovely meal, of walleye, a mushroom pastry and smoked carrots. All were wonderful. This is the sort of place to go for the daring choice that wild option because it will be a delightful new experience.Vegetarian options: Wonderful mushroom pastry and smoked carrotsParking: Just behind on the side street.“
“I grew up in this town but left in 1985. I’ve lived in California since and have eaten at a lot of great restaurants including the Laundry, Chez Panisse, Slanted Door and Mr Chows to name a few. This without a doubt rank's right there. I honestly never thought I’d have a decent thing to eat in this town other than bar food but now I know exactly where it is. If you’re hungry for something exceptional look no further. I have never liked mushrooms, but the mushroom toast was my favorite dish. I can’t believe I’m saying it. Thank you Jen and to the staff for a great evening Looking forward to going back.“
“The burgers here were absolutely delicious! I had The slabtown Burger with Sweet potato fries ( which were the best I ever had!) and my husband had the mushroom melt burger, with the chili cheese fries, and being from Detroit the Chilly needs some work, it was ok.Overall, the service was good and fast, and keep in mind the inside dining area is very small it's a historical home, but very nice and quaint. We will definitely return when we visit the area again.“
“This was a great place to stop. We had to wait as it was a bit busy and the waiting area is basically at the front door by the bar. The staff was diligently working and the bar was nearly full with patrons. The place was average in noise and was a casual atmosphere, so much people were playing a card game at their table while waiting for their food to arrive. The drinks were good and they have a wide variety of beverages to choose from. The prices for each drink were around $10-$12 with some slightly more and some slightly less.I had the brisket pulled pork sandwich and boy was it a filling one. The toppings were dried French onions and it just added to the already full flavor of the two meats. I would definitely recommend the sandwich. The fries were good as well with them being crispy but still flavorful and not dry.If you're in the area and want a good casual meal, this is one stop you will probably enjoy.“
“Friendly, busy, and crowded place with delicious food and a fun atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get a booth as during our stay tables and booth did not stay empty for more than a minute! Definitely, this restaurant has everything right!!“
“What a wonderful brunch experience! The waitress was excellent. We had a 4 year old with us. She suggested we order for him while she was getting our drinks. So smart. He had pancakes and some of the best bacon in TC. We had brunch drinks (Kentucky Bourbon Coffee-yum! Irish Coffee-yum! And a morning mimosa buck-yum!). Breakfast was huge and delicious. We had the stuffed tomato filled with goat cheese and pancetta topped with eggs. Plus a basil sauce. So good. Came with fried potatoes. Too big to eat in one setting. We also had their omelet which was filled with lots of good stuff. Lastly their chicken Benedict. Everything was excellent. Cool vibe. Great service. Absolutely will come again.Kid-friendliness: Great waitress. She made sure our 4 year old was well taken care of.“
“Amazing burgers and fries. I had the Hula slider and it was absolutely amazing. I am always skeptical about pineapple on a burger and saturating the bun. This was perfect and absolutely delicious. I'm still dreaming out about it a few days later!“
“Everyone from the hotel desk to the server were welcoming. The food was outstanding . Our Server was very nice. You can tell everyone from the front to the back cares. I am definitely going back. A gem that I was totally unaware of!Kid-friendliness: Kid menu which was nice, amazing from scratch sidewinder fries and chicken strips.“
“Can be difficult to get a table (especially during the weekend) as a walk up but they do have reservations on line! Food is good, service can be slow if it’s busy but that can be expected. Interesting experience eating inside but in the hallway roped off from walking path. Makes for fun people watching!Parking can be pretty difficult on the weekend so make sure to leave plenty of time for that!“
“We love this place! It's family owned and operated. We have spoke to the wife that's also a waitress many times and they are very humble people that love doing what they do. The prices aren't outrageous and the portion sizes are huge! If you leave still hungry then that's on you! We drive over once a month to tc, and we always stop here to eat. They are always busy, but they make sure your taken care of. If you haven't been here, it's definitely worth the stop.“
“Fabulous restaurant week menu! Food and service were wonderful. Beautiful touches like fried capers in the Caesar salad. Sauces were all excellent. I had the duck confit and my husband had the salmon - both beautifully prepared. The chef stopped at our table and she is a delight!“
“I was visiting in the area, and my friends took me to this place for pizza, and it did not disappoint! I had the cherry cream soda and pizza. Everything was delicious, the servers were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! One of the young ladies was kind enough to take a few pictures of our group.“
“What not to love! We stayed in Traverse City for 2 and a half days. Two of the days we ate here it was that good. We were there during peak time and a slow time and both times the service and food were of great quality. The table favorite was the Black Cherry Pancakes. Just get them, no hesitation!“
“First of all the staff at Rounds are absolutely fantastic. I will be back just because of them. And thats not even counting the food l, and it was perfect. Can't say a single bad thing about anything. And it wasn't a touristy trap. More local than anything advertising about buying local. I.must be back.“
“I went here as part of an after work event. There were 7 of us on the tubing hill and we had a great time. Prices were reasonable, all the staff were helpful and equipment and area were well maintained.I want to give a shout out to Titus who was working the top of the hill. You couldn’t ask for a more professional, polite, and happy person to oversee those about to tube down the hill. Great job Titus! There is plenty of parking. Recommend booking tubing ahead of time so you can pre fill out the waivers and make sure you have a spot.“
“Visited for the first time during Restaurant Week and had an amazing experience. Our waiter Jim was very charming and attentive, making my friend and I feel very relaxed and welcome as each course was served. I chose to add the optional wine pairing and my friend enjoyed their Lady Lavender cocktail which I tried a little sample of. Our drinks were delicious, the wines complementing each dish perfectly. We learned Jim is also the sommelier and curated the wine selections for the menu. He definitely did an excellent job. I started the meal with the Octopus that was cooked perfectly, very tender which can be tricky. She had the Lamb Arancini and joked it would difficult to eat regular meatballs again. We both had the Morel Bisque and raved about the creaminess and how flavorful it was. Entree for me was the Scallops, again cooked perfectly and the Lobster Risotto was amazing. I savored every bite, wishing I could have another serving of the risotto. She tried the Veal Osso Bucco and commented how it was the best way to try a dish for the first time. She even had a bonus taste of bone marrow. The only miss in our main dishes was the Blue Cheese Polenta. Her Lemon Blueberry Butter Cake and my Creme Brulee were the perfect ending to our experience, both just enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. We both plan to visit again and try their regular menu and will be recommending our friends give this gem a try.“
“Always a nice clean room, comfortable beds and good hot coffee!! Dee always greets me by name and a smile on her face!! I had a problem with the television in my room and d moved me to another room. I appreciate it very much. I'll be back next month. Thanks againFood & drinks: Great! Happy hour starts at 3:00 p.m. fantastic!“
“A great place with cozy seating! Many circle booths, a few tables and a long bar! Super busy but great service in this northern Michigan bar! They have many tapped beer along with full bar beverages. We have enjoyed many meals here and plan to visit each time we are in town. Staff and servers are friendly, we love the venue and the prices are reasonable!“
“This is always our go to when visiting TC. I had the heart healthy frittata egg whites goat cheese very yummy. We shared the French press coffee which was equally good. A wait to get out table but only about 15 min. Same wait staff as previous visit. They must do something right.“
“The Asian Wrap is my favorite product of theirs. Fantastic spinach tortilla and great balance of flavors. Ask them for the soy glaze when ordering! Everything is so fresh and they don't cut corners like other places downtown. Keep up the good work!“
“I love getting to go here whenever I get a chance to visit Traverse City. Kind of off the beaten path of Downtown. This place has a brewpub vibe while also offering their own beer and others brews as well so they can serve pretty much anyone. Their food is top notch and a great place to drink some good beer and eat some good food. Simple as that.***Update***Went again, still great! Great NA selection!Parking: Parking is kind of a disaster, but that has nothing to do with the business. Just the location“
“Food was good. Euro sandwich was good. Tomato bisque was not up to par. Good selection of beers on tap. Staff was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was nice but dang is there a discount for bringing kids?!? Seriously there were lots of families with small children. I love kids but unexpected to see at a bar. I would go back for the beer.“
“Don's Drive In is our go to stop for a bite to eat during our busy workday when we have to go over to Munson Hospital with a patient. They always treat us well, make sure they take great care of us, and the food is always fantastic. Highly recommend ?“
“WORTH. THE. WAIT. We've been here a few times now and have never been disappointed. The coffee is so good, the eggs are always cooked perfectly and the fresh bread for toast is spot on. The Cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls are the absolute best there are! LOVE the atmosphere.“
“Kind of a dive place but SUUUUPER fun and GREAT food. Our server Julie was hopping all over the place and kept us informed of when our order would be ready (they were really busy). My husband had the Bo Rito and LOVED it, I had the Thai salad with chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was cooked PERFECTLY. Not at all dry! The salad dressing was amazing. Seriously, I could eat this everyday. I had my first whiskey sour here and it was wonderful. Just wish they had a hot buttered rum. No one makes them anymore! It's quite the local hangout and Julie seemed to know everybody. There is a pool table, a bar you can sit at and restaurant seating for (I'm guessing) 50ish people. On Saturday mornings they play classic cartoons and breakfast is served all day everyday.I can't wait to go back. I only hope Julie is there when I do!“
“Randomly had lunch here today with a friend, and it was some of the best breakfast food I've ever eaten. We absolutely fell in love with the place. Awesome food, great service, really nice cozy spot, fair prices and big portions. It's exactly what you would want out of a small local diner. This is our spot now!“
“Came here for my 41st birthday burning out stay in TC. The hostess, Amanda was super friendly, and seated us in the front room so we had a perfect view. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. We were between appetizers but were guided toward the whitefish dip and were incredibly happy we settled on that. I highly recommend! Afterward, for dinner my boyfriend and I were pretty settled on the filet (we like to share meals and get a taste for more than one thing!). The server said he recommended the filet and between the seafood pasta and the halibut, he recommended the halibut. Well, there was some confusion and the seafood pasta arrived but was quickly replaced by the halibut. He left the pasta as they would have had to toss it anyway so we actually had the opportunity to taste all 3 dishes. Both my boyfriend and I agree the halibut was hands down the best of the three and wish it had arrived first to take full advantage of that before we filled out bellies. I would highly recommend to anyone who is on the fence. The view, service and quality of food are 5 star.“
“Nice, casual relaxing atmosphere. One of our favorite places to have dinner with friends. Food is always good, especially the maple glazed salmon. Good selection of beers. Easy to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. Fairly priced and friendly staff.“
“I got the cinnamon rolls, the coffee cake, and brownie truffles. My palate loved every single one of these desserts. They were a perfect blend of sweet, and gooey. I felt each item made a statement that showed careful consideration that went into baking them. There are so many options at Bay Bread, I can't wait to go back and see what else Team Bay Bread has.“
“Service was incredible! The woman who took our order helped us more like a waitress and was so helpful! It made us feel so welcomed. Our food was great, all was well.Kid-friendliness: We have 4 kids and they were treated so kindly as they ordered.“
“We love to go to Bootleggers for all you can eat fish and chips on Fridays, they have super delish perch and fries. But the best part is having Juan as our server! He is so awesome. Friendly, efficient, helpful, he literally anticipates everything, including extra tartar sauce in your to-go box. The perch is great, the service is excellent, and it's an older crowd for the all you can eat fish until 9pm-ish. Highly recommend. And say hi to wonderful Juan with the great smile for us!“
“The best restaurant in Michigan, hands down. The atmosphere, service, food and drinks are unique and amazing. You can tell a lot of thought goes into every dish and drink. I drive to TC from GR just for this place, because it’s that worth it!“
“I went here with my husband for restaurant week. I got the bay scallop appetizer, ruby red trout entree, and white chocolate cheesecake with lemon curd and raspberries for dessert. I really enjoyed all 3 courses, but I think the highlight was the dessert! If they keep that on the menu, I'll be back often! My husband isn't crazy about lemon, but even he said it was amazing. The service was also great. We were seated quickly, water glasses stayed full, and food was served in a reasonable time. It was a Friday evening, so the restaurant was mostly full, but there wasn't a wait to get in. We did make reservations just to make sure we wouldn't have to wait just in case. Drinks were also tasty. I had the tropical mojito, and I recommend it to anyone who likes a sweet and refreshing drink.“
“We were a party of five. Our food came out promptly and hot. The Tavern Burger and fries were amazing. The seafood chowder was even better! The side salad was way above average with spring greens and multiclor tomtoes. The wood fire pizza is legit. And when one of us ordered carrot cake for dinner, the server didn't blink an eye!“
“Very busy!! Good food overall. The wait time was reasonable, about 30 minutes. The waiter seemed to not remember order (food wasn't cooked exactly like ordered) or simple things like a straw for drinks of two take out containers (brought one)Parking: Lots of parking in front and back of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: They didn't offer anything to help entertain the kids while waiting, no coloring things or little picture books.“
“Went here on a Sunday morning without a reservation. They were able to accommodate my party of 3 at the first come first serve bar seating they offer. I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. After my first bite I knew that the food was worth every penny. I will return.“
