Making it a point to try all the vegan baked goods I can find within a 45 minute radius of South Bend, and this place has so many yummy options! I tried the vegan cinnamon roll, cinnamon coffee cake, and scone. Everything was delicious! Will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: Delicious vegan baked goods - scones, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, and more that I did not get to try
This place is nothing shy of amazing! We live in Michigan City and couldn’t find a bakery you could just wake up and go to. Much less finding this gem. The have the absolute best coffee, the donuts you can tell with how fluffy they are with the perfect amount of sweetness, and the people are great. We weren’t rushed when trying to decide. We were welcomed. We were thanked. You guys have given us a memory with our little guy that will hopefully become tradition. I never knew this place existed and I’m happy we found it. Great job!

Came here while taking a leisurely drive up the Red Arrow Highway. To start the interior is very cool! The vibe is on point! So are the staff, they were excellent, especially with their recommendations. My fiance and I split the namesake Black Currant Donut. It was so pillowy and delicious with that black currant frosting! I could buy a whole dozen of them! And then we split a piece of the salted caramel cheesecake. That was a darn good cheesecake! Great flavor and the texture was wonderful! Would definitely return here .

My favorite Michigan bakery/coffeehouse. Best Spiced Mocha and baked goods in all of SW MI. Don't mind the 30 minute drive from NWI every once in awhile to treat myself to any of their bakes goods and a coffee.

I’m sitting here right now, 20 mins into my first ever visit. I had a raspberry danish- wow. Wow!!!! It’s January , but the danish made it taste like summer. Gorgeous pastries everywhere. If I’m ever back in Lakeview, this will be THE bakery to go to.

Found this neat coffee shop on a road trip. My cappuccino was pretty good, and my SO's black currant tea smelled like fresh pie, she really liked it. The apple fritter we split was insanely delicious, hands down the best part!

We hired them to make our cake and donuts for our wedding. Now we have our guest from all over the country asking if this bakery ships their pastries. Everything we had was amazing. Great service!

I bought the sugar cookie, berry crumble, black currant donut, and chocolate croissant, as well as the Kona latte. Everything was great! I asked one of the employees for a suggestion since I am from out of town, and he recommended the croissant. Unlike other places I've eaten at, the croissant was light and moist at the same time with just enough chocolate. Great treats for a fall morning. I've never been to New Buffalo, but I'm already making plans to return this summer with my sisters and we'll definitely stop at Black Currant.

I really enjoyed my bagel with hummus, avocado, tomatoes and tempeh bac'un. I also tried the vegan coffee cake, which was delicious. My iced latte with oat milk was very decadent.

Fellow food enthusiasts! If you ever find yourself wandering the charming streets of Union Pier, you simply must make a little detour to the delightful Black Currant Bakehouse. Now, I must warn you, it's a bustling spot, and you might find yourself amidst a sea of fellow pastry aficionados. But, as I always say, patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to culinary delights! The array of baked goods is simply staggering! From flaky pastries to sumptuous breads, every item is a testament to the art of baking. But, oh, the donuts! They are a little piece of heaven, perfectly golden and just the right amount of sweet. Paired with their robust coffee, it's a match made in gastronomic paradise. Now, I've heard a whisper or two about the prices being on the higher side, but let me tell you, darling, quality comes at a price. And every bite at Black Currant Bakehouse is worth its weight in gold. It's not just food; it's an experience, a dance of flavors on your palate. If you're in search of a bakery that combines passion, skill, and a sprinkle of magic, Black Currant Bakehouse is the place to be. It's not just delicious; it's simply divine!Bon appétit!
