Walleye Pike with fries & salad bar.The Salad Bar choices :Salad with many different toppings & grated cheese, Cottage Cheese, Peaches & Watermelon, Vegetable Beef Soup, Patato Salad & Coleslaw, and a cold Noodle Salad.”

“My husband and I split 2 meals plus had chips with their pico, white cheese dip and guac. The food was PHENOMENAL. We had a chicken quesadilla & an Al Pastor chimichanga. Everything was so good, we ate almost all of it until we couldn’t fit another bite. We love pico and make our own from our garden, I’ve never made pico even half as good as what they provided. It was mouthwatering. Will definitely be back!”

“Surprisingly awesome. Had an event nearby and was looking for something to eat. Not a lot of options around and this was about the only thing open within 20 minutes. Took a chance and glad I did. I had the dandy burger and it was really good. Two 1/3 lb hand pattied burgers. Fresh lettuce and tomato, bacon, and cheese. Add a pile of crinkle cut fries and you have a big fan. This place is a bit out of the way for me, but if you are looking for something in the area, this is a great option and you won't be disappointed. I will be back anytime I am in the neighborhood.”

“Service is always great! Quiche is definitely my favorite. My daughter (age eight) and I have enjoyed our "coffee" dates here since she was two. She either gets the fresh squeezed juice or hot cocoa with a bakery item. I love their seasonal coffees and lattes!”

“We moved to this area about 12 years ago and not long after came across the Home Plate restaurant. We ate there one afternoon and the food was particularly not very good so we vowed to never go back. 12 years later, after passing the place by millions of times knowing it wasn't worth stopping there, we decided to go there one day for breakfast because it was convenient on our way out of town. Not expecting anything good - we were surprised and impressed with our meal and service and vowed that we would try it again soon. We've been there many times in the past 5 months and every time we've left very happy and sure we would be back soon. The chili and soup are always excellent no matter what kind. They have delicious daily specials. Everything is always fresh and very good, including the service - so friendly and attentive! If it's lunch time, my husband usually orders a burger with fries which he likes a lot and he's very picky. Today we stopped at The Lions Tap for burgers. After a few bites he said the burgers & fries were BETTER AT HOME PLATE - I was shocked because he's always really liked Lions Tap burgers and always said the burgers there are better than Matt's Bar in Minneapolis which is where I think they're the best. I haven't had a burger at Home Plate yet but I must agree, the fries are better at Home Plate. In fact, the fries are better at Home Plate than most other places oddly enough. Not sure how they pull that off. I am now planning to order a burger at Home Plate and compare it with Lions Tap and Matt's myself. I will update my review after this event shortly. Breakfast is always very good. You can tell the food is definitely "home made" quality and not from pre-made frozen. The ambiance is old timey comfortable, which I like. It's more like 5 and dime, not upscale but I like it nonetheless. We appreciate having this great restaurant so close to home where there aren't a lot of options.”
