Food slaps harder than a cold beer after mowing the lawn.

Service has really declined. We were waiting for a booth to be cleaned, and the young lady was literally moving at a snail’s pace wiping the table. It was almost disconcerting how slow she was wiping with no pressure. She dropped the rag on the floor, picked it up and continued wiping. Once seated, we waited 15 minutes before a server came over. Nothing was really worth noting. Sausage was thin and seemed like preformed cheap meat, the toast was nothing special, the bread pudding was bland and cold in the middle. It’s too expensive for this quality. The worst part was a HEATHCARE FEE was added to the bill without a word. No explanation or asking whether that would be okay.

I was thoroughly disappointed with the service or lack there of. We waited 25 mins after being seated and a server never came to our table. The restaurant was not busy during this time, so we asked the host to send a server due to our 25 min wait. 10 mins later we were still waiting. This level of negligence is unacceptable.

Spent two days in Columbia and this is a necessary stop while in town. Great menu with some nice spicy dishes. Very good southern fare. Gotta try the smoked salmon dip.

Went for brunch. I had the breakfast burger ($17), and my boyfriend had the chicken and waffles ($19). My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken waffle. He thought it was really good. I wish I could say the same for my meal. My burger came with an egg which, on the menu it states that it is cooked over easy. I asked if it was possible for it to cooked over medium and the server replied with sure so I orderedit with an over medium egg. Well I got a well done egg. Didn't bother with sending it back but really? When working breakfast the first thing you learn is how to make the eggs in their many different ways. Med is not far from easy but I got severed a well done egg. I tried to eat it but it was extremely dry without the yoke to moisten the sandwich. Wasn't impressed at all. Also this is not a typical "cafe." Or what one would think a cafe would be. It is more along the lines of casual fine dining.

Location of this restaurant is very nice, walkable from University campus and centrally located at Columbia Downtown area. Staffs are very nice, well behaved. Decoration and ambiance inside is nice also. Few foods are very nice like we tried “pickle fries” which was quite nice. Hot chicken sandwich was hopeless. Putting a bit chunk of fried chicken inbetween two bread doesn’t make a tasty sandwich. Sandwich was too oily. Potion size was quite good will visit again to try other items.

We had heard great things about this place, so we decided to head here on our way out of town. The atmosphere is really great, and it was not very busy, so it was nice and quiet. Our server, Jack, did a wonderful job telling us about the different entrees, and his suggestions were spot on. He was very attentive in refilling our drinks, and making sure that everything was to our satisfaction. We got the Avocado Chicken BLT with sweet potato fries and the French Onion Soup. Everything was delicious! Thank you Glenn's for the wonderful dining experience, and do whatever you have to do to keep Jack! He was incredible!Parking: We parked in the garage on 8th Street just before Cherry. It was free for the first hour. With the quick service we got at Glenn's, we didn't end up having to pay anything to park.

We had a girls’ brunch. The food was acceptable, service was good , price was outrageous. But was most outrageous was the $5.60 ‘employee healthcare fund’ charged added to my bill. I too am an employer who pay for employee healthcare. But find it completely unacceptable to ask your customers to ‘contribute’ especially given your prices to start with. If our waitress wasn’t so sweet and I wasn’t in a hurry … I would not have paid such. I will not be back.

Wife and I went for their Valentine’s Day special for dinner, and I had salmon while she had the prime rib. The fish was the dry and the prime rib was cooked well done (asked for medium). The cornbread and bread pudding dessert were pretty solid. However, we paid $120 (plus tax and tip) for this okayish meal, and I’m pretty positive had we just ordered the same dishes off their regular menu, it would’ve been cheaper (but hey that’s on me). I will say that the atmosphere was nice and our waitress was tremendous, but I don’t have a desire to return.

The service was very good but our meals were not up to par. My husband had the original breakfast with potatoes, over easy weeks, sausage and a biscuit and gravy. The biscuit was a big add a softball and hard as a softball. He couldn't even eat it because it was so hard. The server apologized and dad it was from a bad batch. I had Salmon Caesar salad. Nothing to write home about. The house made dressing was bland and boring. We had been one before for lunch and it was awesome. We won't be back for brunch. The bloody Mary's were the best thing we had.

I like Glenn's Cafe style and service. The food was nice too. We had a main dish and a starter -shrimps&grits and fried pickles+fries- they also offer a service where you write a postcard and they ship it for you at the end :)
