The food here was very good. I got tacos with a side of beans and rice. The service was very slow however. It took 40 minutes for me to get my food to go. I walked in and was not warned it would take that long. The restaurant has a hole in the wall feel to it. Not a ton of sitting room but you could eat there if you would like. I was between a 3 and 4 for this review. The service speed and the expensive price weighed in negatively for me. I may return someday not in a huge rush to go back however.

I was traveling with colleagues back to St. Louis from a conference in Kansas City. It was getting late, and Matt, riding shotgun, googled and found the Med Mex Cafe. It seemed slow at first, but no one seemed concerned or bothered. We discovered the reason people waited patiently was the outstanding delicious food. All three of us had Gyro variations, and all commented on the taste and experience as we ate. I should add that two of us were born and raised near the Mediterranean, so they should know.

My husband picked up carne asada tacos from Med Mex while we were visiting my son in Columbia. My son told us that he and his girlfriend think these tacos are better than our favorite spot for street tacos in KC. I have to say, I agree! These were the best carne asada tacos I have had. We preferred the green sauce, but the red was good, too. I'd be here once a week if I lived in the area. It was very busy at 1:30 on a Saturday. I'd recommend calling ahead for a to go order.

Best shawarma in Columbia! Very colorful plate and so much flavor. It's the #3 on the menu! The portions are pretty big so 2 people can share one entree. Definitely worth

Mom, dad & kids give this place 5 stars. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. The chefs know how to cook both cuisines, food was seasoned perfectly. We stopped on the way through town, and will stop again in the future!

Amazing food, amazing dessert.... they even got MEXICAN sodas and you can cross over the meats on the menu. Good is so dang good, if you haven't eaten here then your missing out on a hidden gem!

The food here is absolutely delicious. This place was a great find. It's my two favorite types of food combined. Coming from Cali & Florida, we had high expectations for both the Mexican & Mediterranean food. We had the lamb tacos & the vegetarian platter. The flavors & textures are all there. The prices are good & the customer service was on point. If I ever pass through this town again I'll definitely stop by MedMex for another meal!
