The food in Twain tap room is terrible. Ever since the head chef has left everything has changed in a bad way. I would not recommend this place for the food. It does have a good atmosphere but that's about all it has to offer. If you do decide to get a drink I would say go to the vault cuz it's the only place where you will find good customer service with Shannon the bartender.

Wonderful Hotel! The room was beautiful with a great view. It's right in the middle of downtown, so everything was very walkable. The bathroom was AMAZING! The three bars on site were great!! The lobby is beautiful. I snuck a look at the ballroom and it was also beautiful, on the smaller size... But great for a modest reception!Rooms: Fantastic rooms and bathrooms!Safety: I felt extremely safe in the hotel and walking around downtown.Walkability: We didn't even take our car out! Downtown is extremely walkable!!Food & drinks: Delicious bars on site! Great restaurants in walking distance. We did not try the on-site cafe, but it has great reviews.

I have spent $4-5k annually at this hotel and I asked for a 1 night credit due to illness and was denied. I understand it’s graduation weekend but I don’t think it’s worth losing my business. I told the manager to sell my room since the hotel is booked full & he said that’s fine but still NO REFUND.I would think twice about reserving a room here… they will not work with you if issues arise. BYE BYE TIGER… never again

Hotel is dated and needs an upgrade in the conference rooms.

The room was large enough that a couch would fit easily and would have been welcome. The tub is nicely oversized, but entry to it would be difficult for some due to tall sides and the lack of grab bars. The slip mat was tucked in the back side of the shelf under the sink, thus a little hard to spot. It was also well worn and should be replaced. The bed was not made even though the room had been serviced.

The location is perfect if you love walking around downtown areas. The rooms are so cozy and have blinds that open with a bedside button! And the service was phenomenal.. the manager that night was super. The property is beautifully elegant and has 1 bar and 2 restaurants! We will definitely stay here again. Plus, each room has a stocked mini bar with snacks if you decide to stay in!

Loved our mid October stay at The Tiger! This great vintage hotel has a fun lowkey vibe that is most welcome. Staff was uniformly welcoming, helpful, and informed. Our room was clean and comfortable. We LOVED Love Coffee in the lobby area and enjoyed their lattes each morning during our stay. Glenn's Cafe (est. 1028!) served excellent food and their wait staff was outstanding. The standout for us was Twain - a speakeasy bar in the lower level of The Tiger. Great BBQ food - all local to Missouri - great ambiance and wonderful beer or cocktails. The staff here was so helpful and couteous. We enjoyed the leather backed chairs and a cocktail as we looked out the large windows to the streets of Columbia outside. A good night!Only criticism/suggestion: housekeeping in the public (specifially elevator areas on floor 2) could be substantially improved.

The accommodations were very nice. Deep soaker tub and the room itself was very roomy. My issue was the staff, the valet was a bit slow but my main complaint is with the front desk. They tried to charge me for ammenenities that were complimentary. They tried several times to run charges through on my debit card even after they told me the charges were taken off. Luckily I always lock my debit card when I'm not using it. Lack of communication between the staff members was another issue. It was a beautiful hotel and enjoyed our stay, they just need to train the staff a bit better on customer service.Rooms: The rooms were large and very nice, the soaker tub was nice.

Okay, so the only reason I didn't give 5 was the cost. They had surge pricing for LSU game weekend and - I kid you not - I paid just under $800 / night. Now don't get me wrong, I agreed to it otherwise I would have been sleeping in my car or driving 30 mins ea way from Jefferson City. But it's kind of like pricing gas at $10 / gal when there's a hurricane. So past that it was all good. My room was massive - almost to the point of "what's the point of having all this space?" Separate living / entertaining room and about a 30 x 20 bedroom and huge bathroom. Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, auto blinds and a few other perks.Location is great as is Glen's Cafe (fabulous wine list) and all the bars inside. Room service was prompt and delicious. Reminds me a bit of McMenamins Bar/Hotels around Portland, OR. I did valet car because $25/day is a steal compared to any other hotel I've stayed and parking around the area is very challenging.I would definitely stay again minus the ridiculous cost.

Historic building, yet the rooms are kept up to date. The staff are very nice. The location is top notch. It's not the cheapest though.Walkability: Many of the major bars and restaurants are very close within walking range. The University of Missouri campus and the University hospital are a 5-10 minute walk.
