My mom and I went into the bakery in early-mid February inquiring about a baby shower cake for mid-March. Initially the employee we talked to was very friendly and helpful. She gave me her card and said to just email some photo ideas of the kind of cake I’m looking for. She also reassured me that I would have plenty of time to get the order in before my baby shower as long as we placed the order within a certain time frame. I did as she suggested and sent the bakery an email, a message through their website, and then a follow-up email because I had not heard anything a few days later. My mom and I then returned to the bakery closer to the end of February (still well within the time frame she gave us) with cash in hand and ready to place an order if they could provide us a few more details on the price, process, decor etc. Instead, we were simply told they would not be able to take anymore orders to be ready by 3/16 (as we were previously told would certainly not be a problem). My mom and I ended up going over to Helfer’s Bakery and ordering the baby shower cake. I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism from this bakery as I had high expectations for them. Helfer’s is mine and my family’s go-to Florissant bakery now.

This place is fantastic. Very clean and smells like Grandma's kitchen. Coffee is excellent. We love the sweet and savory baked goods. You can see everything being made in the back. Kids welcome. Outdoor and indoor seating.

Exceeded expectations! Hosted a small post proposal party. The cake was raspberry and almond, tons of compliments! Also the macaroons and STL bars were beyond delicious. A true food artist.

Lia's a champ, literally. Pastries are amazing, and her GF/DF are indistinguishable from the regular offering, none of that grainy texture you sometimes get from coconut flour. If you call in advance, they can take special orders. Excellent bakery.

Made by Lia is such a gem. Every time I go in to grab something I get such a nice, cozy feeling because of the inviting space Lia and her staff have created. Everything they bake is phenomenal. I recently was able to try the coffee macaron and it was the best macaron I’ve ever had. I’m normally not a huge macaron fan but this one converted me! The oatmeal cream pies are a favorite as well. If you haven’t been, you must go!

5 stars all around. Staff is super friendly everything we have tried is amazing. I ordered Lia’s Christmas Cookie Cookbook and everyone loved the gingerbread cookies. We also saw Santa on the 16th and Santa was amazing with my upset baby. I can not suggest this place enough!
I walked down this morning to find that they were closed. However, one of the owners was out front and let me in for a cold brew! Merry Christmas and thank you so much for your hospitality!

i am glad i finally discovered this place as a nice little alternative to overpriced coffee chains in north county. the shop is adorable and all the staff are very friendly. they do seem to get quite busy so i would plan to get there early on the weekend. i had the maple scone which was excellent: moist and dense, 10/10 would get again. my plain latte was good, though i could do with a little stronger espresso and might go in on an extra shot next time. i do wish they had stoppers for the to go cups.

FOR ALL MY FELLOW GLUTEN FREE SWEET TOOTHS!! They had 3 or 4 gluten free options. A scone, a pecan pastry, a chocolate cake donut, and one other option (can’t remember). They advertise as a “gluten free bakery” but shouldn’t be considered that. Cinnamon rolls were decent but, not worth going back for though. Britts bakery is much more worth the time and money, with a lot more GF options!

We had Lia make our wedding cake last year and now just celebrated our one year anniversary by stopping by. Always a wonderful environment, great coffee and treats, amazing place with different dietary options like vegan and gluten free. Can’t recommend enough!
