Good food, good service, big portions. I plan to eat here again. I had the taco salad today and it was different than a Mexican restaurant, even more American diner version. It was good.

Sad you tried to cheat Randy santel out of a food challenge win. You added more food to the food challenge and you guys didn't let him record. you have terrible customer service. I hope you go out of buisness.

Stay away from these scam artists! They have a food challenge on the menu, but decided to cheat the people who attempt it. You're STEALING from your customers. Disgraceful. Food looks like pig slop too. Owners should be ashamed. Look up "randy Santel Sami's family" to support someone they tried to cheat, and hear about his experience.

Wonderful food and nice servers. My parents had breakfast and my hubby and I had burgers. I had the mushroom burger and it had a nice amount of shrooms on and the bacon that was used my hubby's bacon cheese burger was nice and thick. The breakfasts were grand in size and reported to be fantastic. The fries looked homemade. We will definitely be stopping here again.

I defeated the Monster Omelet Challenge at Sami's Family Restaurant in Duquesne, Missouri. Contestants have 30 minutes to finish the 5 pound country omelet, which consists of 15 eggs stuffed with 3 large biscuits, gravy and sausage, topped with more gravy and cheese. In addition, there is 1 pound of hashbrowns, covered with extra gravy and cheese. I was the first winner of the challenge, finishing in 16:02. For winning, I received the $35 meal for free, a tshirt, and my spot on the wall of fame! The food & service was great. The biscuits were fluffy. I enjoyed the sausage gravy.

My wife and I visited this business last Saturday, December 12, 2020. We’ve been to Joplin many times and have occasionally seen several cars in the parking lot. We were in Joplin to attend a graduation at the college just up the street. First of all the service was terrible. We should have keyed on that when we saw one wait person trying to service the entire place. We made the mistake of saying we were not ready to order because we were looking at the menu. It took another 10-15 minutes for her to return to our table. We finally placed our order and waited another 30 minutes to receive salads, chicken tenders and fries for my wife and a hamburger steak and fries for me. My wife says the chicken tenders were normal, nothing special. The salad was terrible. Old lettuce. My hammer steak appeared to be a quarter pound hamburger patty with an ungodly amount onions and so,e type of offensive seasoning. My meal was totally cold. I had asked for coffe refills on three occasions. The last time I went to the front counter with my cup and asked for coffee. The waitress told me to have a seat and she would bring coffee. She finally did. So in about 45-50 minutes I had two cups of coffee. As I paid out the person at the counter, a male who I assumed may be the manager or owner, asked me how our meals were. When I told him. His response was “why didn’t you tell me when you received your meal?” My response was that there was never anyone to tell. If he had been visible I would have attempted. When I told him I would take care of the problem and never return because we had a graduation to attend. He said “ok”. When I signed my credit card statement he added, “remember don’t come back”. By the way...even though the food and service was terrible I left a 20% tip. I will follow his suggestion... I will not return. Jimmy Gibbs

This is just another get it in frozen from restaurant supply and reheat for consumer. It's nothing like the restaurant my cousin and I ran years ago.

3 women traveling through stopped at Sami's for lunch. Excellent Greek food at a reasonable price, with huge drinks. A diner, not fancy food, that serves breakfast and lunch. Good roadside stop. They have a gyro salad wihich fills you up for around $10. Service prompt. Had to have a small piece of baklava as well. I requested with no black olives and tanziki on the side and they complied with a smile.
