The Russell is a cute restaurant with a comfort and welcoming feel. The food was fresh and delicious. The warm olives with grilled bread was a great way to start off our meal. My entree was the tasty green pear salad. The salad had green pears, blue cheese, dried cherries, candied walnuts and a bourbon pear vinaigrette. I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint. I loved the menu, atmosphere and service. I had the Sumac bowl while my friend had the BLT, I was very happy with mine as the tenderloin was very tender and flavorful and everything was proportioned just right. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on their menu.

Top five favorite places to eat in Kansas City.Every detail from the front counter to the bathrooms was thought out and fits their vibe.Food is cooked on an open fire which is very unique. All breads are baked in house.The staff is beyond nice and the table markers are old license plates.How cute!
