This bbq place is one those whole in the wall kind of places. You only know about if you look it up online. The ribs, sausage, fries, fried okra, and baked beans are excellent. Met my high standards and exceeded them. The brisket was pretty good but it was a little on the dry side. That's literally the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The atmosphere is amazing and it felt like being back home in georgia at your local BBQ place everyone hangs out and talks. The owner is extremely nice and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through here or that lives here.

My husband had the big papa I think & I had the Nana ... the minute we walked in we could smell the smoked meat and our bellies were screaming. Took us a bit to decide cuz there was multiple choices we wanted and couldn't decide. The food was great.. I LOVED the brisket & the potato salad!! They were really nice and we had a great meal. We both remembered the old commercial but had never tried the food there.. but we're glad we did today while in Springfield. It's easy to see how they're celebrating so many years with good bbq like that. Highly recommend

Really excellent and kind service. We are bbq connoisseurs, and this was pretty underwhelming.Got takeout, but went in to order because the drive through machine wasn’t working. It was taped up with duct tape and looked pretty disheveled. The inside of the building looks like it was straight out of the 70s when it was built.

Was really excited for the hubby to bring me home dinner after eating with his friend for his birthday. Ask for a brisket sandwich and my order came with a sandwich and this coleslaw ????. 2 tablespoons of coleslaw and that was it. I have waited to eat here for over a year
IMO, Crosstown BBQ has the absolute best BBQ in Springfield. And, it is the best I have eaten, anywhere. Steve Williams is a BBQ genius.

Fantastic taste every thing is so balanced! The fried okra is my favorite side tastes like the okra came fresh from the garden!!!I always get the burnt ends! Very little fat but full of juicy meat!

Food isn't bad - was the only one through drive through for a pick up order and waited over 20 minutes with no communication at all - after arriving on time when told over the phone that the food would be ready when we got there.

This was the worst BBQ I’ve ever had. It was old, dry, and bland. The ribs were tough, the smoked turkey was literally pulled out of a lunch meat pack and put into a little smoker, the sausage was a hotdog, the potato salad is store bought, and the fries were bland. Been wanting to try this for a long time, but I won’t be back.I don’t want to be mean, the service was great. But for the high price, the BBQ is not worth it.

I’m very sorry to write this review, but I wish I would’ve seen more realistic reviews before we decided to spend $50 on two plates. The owner is friendly. He seems like a great person. I wish him the best and continued success with the restaurant. But. The brisket and pork are inedible. I’ve never had such tough brisket in my life. The pork was a piece with a few cuts through it, and again, it was tough. Maybe the meat needed to be cooked longer. I’m not sure, but I was so disappointed to have this as my dinner, and I left hungry.
