“The steak was amazing. My mother has never ordered a steak any way other than well-done and was floored by the medium well. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and provided both a detailed history and flavor profile of select whiskeys/bourbons. This took the experience to a new level as we were able to apply that knowledge when tasting a flight.Amazing experience. Will definitely be back!“
“This has been the most exceptional dining experience in a very long time. Me & my friend came in for a quick bite. We were greeted immediately & told to hang on a sec & it was literally a second. Mike the waiter was very attentive & took care to our almost every need. Chef’s kiss to Yellowbellly!“
“I took a group there and the hostess was very accommodating. We saw a local cover band for Creedence Clearwater Revival, and everyone had a blast! This is a must-visit music venue if you're in St Louis!Parking: Free parking across the street“
“Had a wonderful time with wonderful food. The service was great. This was a gift from my daughter and her husband for my retirement. It is a fancier, pricier place, but who doesn’t want to do that once in a while for a special evening out. Go and enjoy a relaxed night out on the town.“
“Good food.. just wish the waiter would have worried about our table just as much as the larger table. Not good for it to take 1.5 hours before your main food arrived.. but could have just been a off night.. still like the place and will go again in the future.“
“We were excited to try the Tavern tonight for the first time. We were a bit underwhelmed. I only got 3 scallops for a $45 entree (even Disney will give you 4 for the same price). Additionally, the fries and baked cookie had a burnt aftertaste from the oven. For $150, we thought it was significantly overpriced for what we got.“
“Service started off slow, with the bread and apps plates either wet or covered in old grease or food. Our server replaced them immediately after we brought them to his attention. But then once we got started and had our food, we were blown away. Every item was delicious and well prepared. The portions were alarmingly large. We had a great time enjoying our food, talking about how excellent it was, and enormous the portions were. For the old school, Italian vibe, this is a St. Louis staple. My KC friends were impressed!“
“We opted for mostly drinks this time around, but still couldn't resist the chocolate tort. The cocktails are always exceptional! The Pho Sho and Garden Cosmo were the stars of the night! Service was impeccable, she was attentive without being overbearing!“
“Can be a little loud when they are busy. Food is good and you get lots, won't leave hungry.Parking: Depending on how busy they are, sometimes parking is not great. Restaurant shares parking with a convenience type store/sandwich shop, and I believe a laundromat around the corner.“
“Born & Raised in Louisiana- I never thought I’d find a place that made me feel like I was eating at home! The food, the atmosphere, the hospitality…. I can not believe I just found this place but definitely has turned into one of my favorites!!!! Kyle was absolutely amazing!!!“
“I had the shrimp boil and the Brussel sprouts and potatoes that were crispy were fantastic. The sausage was a Great blend of flavor and heat. The shrimp were terrific. The lemon and wet towel was a superb ending I received much joy having clean hands at the table.the catfish was excellent I tried it.Loved the atmosphere and decor. Service was Top Notch thanks.Bathrooms were clean and nice.“
“First time visiting El Potro, had the enchiladas with mole and 3 tacos dinner Al pastor and carne asada. Everything from the service to the food was great. The owner and staff are super nice!! Will definitely go back , next time will try the molcajete.“
“Amazing food, service and staff across the board. Our waiter Maz is in the team picture of best 5 waiters I’ve ever had. Attentive beyond necessity! What waiter pours 3 guys bottled beers into a frosty glass? Maz does! Total understanding of menu, ingredients and recommendations! Highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Maz! Definitely will be back next time i’m in St. Louis!“
“This was very first time eating here. The cuisine is excellent! I had the lunch special, Generals chicken for $10.99. Fast, gracious, attentive service once you are seated. However, they never even made eye or greeted me upon arrival, or after sitting down. Make sure you initiate it or you may be "waiting to be seated" for awhile lol.“
“The service here is top notch. My husband and I came on our anniversary before catching the theater. Our reservation was for 5:15, and we admittedly were a bit late, but informed our server that we needed to leave by 6:30 to make our show. The serving staff took good care of us and what we ordered, three courses worth, was all highly flavorful and top notch.“
“This was a night out with my brothers and friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The drinks were okay. The bloody mary was simple, not much zing to the taste. It was kind of bland. Our server was polite and friendly. We were treated to vocals from retired football tight end Jackie Smith. He sounded great that night. A nice place for dinner or just cocktails after donner.“
“We were in town for a long weekend celebrating our anniversary and chose to go here for our anniversary dinner. Service was outstanding, the staff was so friendly, a great atmosphere, and delicious pasta. I ordered a cosmopolitan that was great, and we got a dessert that was wonderful also.“
“I have visited Trattoria Toscana a few times and decided to take my son and daughter in law for a celebration dinner. It was exquisite! The food was delicious as always. Frankie was an outstanding server and worthy of accolades! Trattoria Toscana will be my choice of restaurants to celebrate or just go out for delicious food for no special reason. So happy!“
“Really nice place inside. Don't know what the bar looked like because we didn't go in. I have heard people say that it's pricey and of course it is because this isn't your average Mexican restaurant. The menu is small plate oriented and the menu ismore like a tasting menu. The food is higher end than all the other places and outstanding. I can't comment on their drink menu because I seldom drink when going out. I will say that the pricing seem to be a bit higher than most places which will account for a higher per person ticket if one has two or three drinks. Still, our total was $70 ore tip for 2 people including 2 beers. The wait time between "courses" is a bit long but not enough for me to really complain about. The staff were friendly dmv knowledgeable about the menu. It may not me a place we'll go to monthly but we will definitely be back!“
“While in town I had to visit. We only had time for a quick take out of fried green tomatoes and fries. The food was great! Service was awesome. The atmosphere was amazing! While we were there the gentleman that was singing on stage played a Beatles song and the place wasn't busy as it was late but wow it was alive! That song in that bar - I wished I had more time to stay!“
“HANDS DOWN THE BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT AROUND!!!!!! WHAT'S UNIQUE ABOUT THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS THAT I'VE EATEN HERE ABOUT FIVE TIMES AND EVERYTIME MY FOOD ALWAYS IS BURSTING IN FLAVOR!!!! ITS LIKE THEY NEVER MISS!!!! I ALWAYS GET B1 BUT NEXT TIME IM GOING FOR THE GUMBO ALSO!“
“Absolutely one of the best restaurants in St. Louis. They are known for the golden fried chicken. The breading is very good. Very juicy perfectly cooked chicken. They have the BEST fried mushrooms I’ve had. The wings are AMAZING. It gets better. The SAUCES are delicious ?. All are homemade from scratch. The owner Charlene is so sweet and kind. The customer service here is excellent. This is a MUST STOP place to eat! The sides are so good you will be back for more!“
“Come often and never disappointed. Yesterday had Margarita', chicken wings & cheese dish. Everything was Amazing. The owner always speaks and the staff makes sure everything is to your liking. 1st class & best Mexican is St. Louis.“
“Absolutely amazing food! I've tried about 12 rolls so far, the seaweed salad, and orange chicken. My partner and I can't get enough of this place! This is one of the best places to eat around Grand and Gravois. I love being able to order online and bring it home!“
“Let me just preface this by saying I moved here from South Texas and have spent more than my fair share of time in Old Mexico. In years of searching for REAL Mexican food in St Louis, I’ve had many disappointments. This place was absolutely fantastic and pure pleasure for an old Texan. It even made me shhh my wife because I wasn’t willing to remove my focus from the delicacy I was partaking in. Can’t recommend this place enough and haven’t been able to stop telling others about it. I’ll be a permanent fixture there for sure.“
“Joyful House is a MUST try! ?Have you heard that restaurants attached to grocery stores are the best hidden gems?! Joyful House definitely lives up to this expectation! My Favs:#4 Goi Cuon: Fresh Spring Rolls (PRO-TIP: these are made to order, so you can request just shrimp or just pork)#42 Lau Canh Chua: Sweet & Sour Soup Hot Pot#39 Stir Fried Chili Tofu&& they have Boba Tea!!“
“Non-descript corner bakery that serves authentic Chinese bakery items along with roast meats and a smattering of dimsum dishes. Gets busy on weekends around late morning. Has other branch on S. Grand but that location has a smaller assortment of items.“
“My wife and I came here for the first time for a date night which we had come at a perfect time since it wasn't really busy. We walked in and immediately got seated, the atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit dark but the back had some good lightning. Our server was great and she explained the menu to us and even the different types of wine they have. I was having trouble deciding what I wanted to eat because they had so many good options, I decided to go with the stuffed redfish with crawfish and my wife ordered the 9 oz top sirloin. It was only about 10-15 mins before we got our food and needless to say, my food was absolutely freaking delicious. My wife also liked her steak but wished she got more mashed potatoes and a bit more flavor. We would come here again.“
“Food was very delicious and flavorful. I really enjoy authentic Mexican food, and hit the nail on this one. The corn they give you on the side was delicious and sweet and very moist. The drinks were deli's as well. The service was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great recommendations. The inside was very clean, spacious and dim lit. Can't wait to go again and try more food.“
“We went elbows deep on a loaded platter and walked out with fully moisturized hands and arms from the butter bath. Everything was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right and tasted delicious. The shrimp and grits are the best I have has this side of the Mississippi! It really hits all the cozy, comfort dish points. The creamy grits, flavorful gravy and plump juicy shrimp will make you a repeat customer.“
“The food, the service (Allen W.), the music.....all AMAZING!!! Since we got into St. Loius for our visit we have been waiting for our "ah-ha" meal and experience and we got it here. Everything was so prefect!!! Thank you, Evangeline's. We will be back.“
“I had been looking for another good black, owned fish, restaurant, other than mothers. Even though I like mothers fish, there aren’t many around…. When I found the Fishhouse, I realize I had found a home.. it’s a family owned business, and their fish is fresh and fried well. They even have good sides, and I don’t usually eat everyone’s side dishes.“
“It's new and still finding it's way but my experiences have been well. The food was accurate, the employees all aim to please, the prices are reasonable. Prepare to wait 20 minutes on all orders. Call ahead or place your order and check out the smoke shop next door. They are also open late.“
“I went on an evening that just happened to be snowy one, so the crowd was slim. They were not open yet, but they let me come in and order because it was cold out! The crowd did however pickup before I left, which was about after an hour of my arrival. Sue the bartender was very nice, and made some scrumptious cocktails. The music was cool, and kept the upbeat vibe going. Upon departing, I ordered the pork chop and fries to go from the connecting doorway. The food was delish, and my overall experience was on point.“
“I took my daughter who's 2 on her first bus ride. It must've been God's Plan. Our scheduled day had changed just as our little adventure had begun. At first, we were just going to go home. Instead, we detoured inside to the KING CHOP SUEY on West Florissant. We had such a wonderful and memorable time! The lady took our order and was so very patient. She made our day so much better. (I wish I had learned her name.) My daughter and I sat in and ate. Well, I sat, the baby sat every once in a while. (terrible 2's ?) No one complained, made faces, or gave any attitude. The food was SO GOOD, even the Crab Rangoon! It was hot, fresh and made just as asked. She called out my order as a number but I didn't have one. (it's on the receipt btw). I told her she hadn't given me a number. She didn't argue that she did or give me any flack. She just asked what I ordered. I found it later in my pocket later with my change. (Sorry Ma'am ?) I also asked for something so my daughter could eat on her own. She gave me a cute little baby sized box. It was perfect. The place was very clean, AND I felt safe, which is really something to say in St. Louis City. So, as we're walking through the door later that night, when we FINALLY got home, the first thing my daughter said was RICE!! So we ate the leftovers. That was probably the clearest thing I've heard this girl say besides No, Mama, and Juice. Thank You Guys So Much!!! If ever I get another chance, I'll be back. I definitely recommend this location to others. A much better than their competitors. (Place Unspoken)Kid-friendliness: My daughter and I sat in and ate. “Fried Shrimp was seasoned well and was hot! Hubby had plain wings and even though it's a seafood place, they were seasoned well and hot also. I will definitely be back, and even though our waitress was slow to get our entire order together, she was very sweet.“
“Great Place to dine ? The Cajun boil bag is DELICIOUS! It came with ? corn, ?potatoes, sausage ? and shrimp ? Awwwe Man the broth n sauce in the bag was soo tasteful and full of garlic ? and it came with a side of garlic bread ?Definitely will be eating here again?? and recommending to my friends ?“
“It has been many years since we have been to Sam's Steakhouse so decided to go last Saturday night. Very pleased with our visit. General Manager Mark Erney made sure everything was exceptional, Food and service was fantastic. We will return and make sure to tell friends and family.Parking: Didn't have a problem parking close to restaurant.“
“My son’s took me to this place for my birthday brunch. He reserved a table so I highly recommend you check availability to avoid long wait time. Our waitress Mone’ was Awesome ?? she had our table set and ready upon our arrival. It’s a small location but it’s nice there’s video music ?playing on the big screen ? at a low volume and conversational paintings ?️ on the walls while you wait for your order. I ordered the lamb chops with the glaze sauce on the side it was delicious, my son’s and my mom had the shrimp Alfredo, fried potatoes, stacked pancakes, fried chicken, French toast all was good. It was funny that we all eating saying okay this taste good and my son was like mama let me taste your lamb chops I handed him a bone with a little meat? Try this place out you will not be disappointed“
“Had my phone delivered to me. The food was really good, been avoiding take out places/restaurants for a while bc I’m very particular but seriously the best take out I’ve had in a while. Never in my life ever been a tart sauce person but OMG best tartar sauce I’ve ever had. The shrimp was outstanding (again not something I eat Ever!) it’s a bit of drive for but I’ll definitely be back“
“I ate here tonight and had the Chile Colorado with beef tips in verde sauce. The beef was tender and the sauce was nice and hot, very good. The portions were standard and the rice and beans were good too. The atmosphere is more quiet than other competitors which was nice. They also had a man singing and playing guitar which was a real nice touch. The service was fine. The chips could be upgraded. I will be going back sooner than later.“
“Ambiance = none I stopped in for plain white steamed rice to go. The smells are AMAZINGLY DELIGHTFUL so upon entering I was disappointed to see a large too With really no decor only tables and chairs. I did not go on a tour, nor peruse the online photos so I'm guessing that the back rooms are sexy intimate dining rooms. But that's for you to check out! Enjoy“
“Passing through the area at lunch time, hungry for local fish, I found Podner's and got their catfish nuggets and fries. Yum!! The ladies who served me were very kind. The place isn't fancy, but sometimes the best food is served in a humble atmosphere. Thank you, ladies, so much!“
“This is a GREAT neighborhood restaurant! Great ambiance in the front room! Very good wine list; we thoroughly enjoyed the Manzone Gramolere Barolo. The food was excellent, and the portions quite large on the Chicken Marsala. One of the specials was Divers Scallops on a bed of risotto, and the scallops were perfectly done. Service after the entree could have been more attentive.“
