Restaurantji's guide to Laurel's top Mexican dining experiences.
“I've been through the drive thru twice and today I decided to dine in. The drive thru time isn't bad. I've gotten the same thing every time. I'm vegetarian so I order beans and tell em to leave off the meat - this blows their mind and clarify w me several times (and that's okay). The very first time was honestly the best experience thus far. (TWSS). The dine in experience was okay, service was good but the flan was watery and bland. I'm not a flan expert by any means but it shouldn't be watery and separating. It's a small place w a relaxed atmosphere. There's construction materials outside - idk what that's about. Overall it's good food and atmosphere.“
“The food here is first rate. If you love thin, crisp, fresh chips to dip in salsa, you will love this place as I do! Our appetizer was one of their many nacho plates. My husband ordered a chicken taco salad, while I chose the loaded baked potato. The portions were so large that we needed 2 large "to go" boxes. The service was fast & efficient--very little wait time for anything--especially drink refills (and my husband can keep a waiter busy with his many water glass refills). It appeared to be mainly locals dining there (very family friendly), which we loved since we are from South Carolina & appreciate restaurants that locals frequent. This is a restaurant that we would gladly revisit and the prices were better than many of the more celebrated places we visited.“

“Great place for a quick family lunch or dinner. Whatever you get I recommend adding their melted cheese over it, or either the southwest ranch to the side, I eat them both we everything I order.Parking: This restaurant is located inside the mall, so there is plenty of free parking.Kid-friendliness: Kids are definitely welcomed here.Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is wheelchair accessible.“
“Excellent service from the time we stepped in the door. Everyone was friendly! Great margaritas with fresh pineapple, orange and lime on the rim. Happy hour 2 for 1 ($9.95 for two 12oz) until 6pm. Sizzling fajitas were great! Lots of veggies and meat was seasoned perfectly. I had the chicken, steak shrimp combo - portion size was large enough for 2 if not super hungry. And good amount of shrimp! First time in town, highly recommend this place for Mexican.“
“La Palma Grill was a most pleasant surprise. The food and service were excellent! We arrived in Laurel on a Sunday night, and found the quaint little town quite buttoned-up. We went exploring for an open restaurant and found La Palma. We are so glad we did. It's listed several places as a Mexican restaurant, but I think it is more correctly El Salvadoran/Latin. The cheese queso, such a simple thing, was the best we've ever had. Nice and thick (at some places it tends to be soupy) and flavorful. The beer was very cold and served in frosty mugs. We ordered something called a Picadera (see picture). It was an array of grilled steak, chicken, sausage and shrimp (no shredded meat here) with broccoli, cauliflower and peppers - all nicely seasoned. It also came with a pupusa, a tasty flatbread, cheese and meat item (that's the national food of El Salvador according to Wikipedia), and two individual plates of rice and beans. The Picadera was described as a variety of finger foods for two - but we could not eat it all - plenty of food! Our server was prompt and attentive and willing to offer her opinions of what she liked - even suggesting to us that we get the Picadera jalapenos on the side. The only "complaint" we could come up with is the parking - it's a bit limited and very tight on the sides and in the back. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at La Palma Grill - if we find ourselves in Laurel in the future we would definitely go back. Well done La Palma!!“
