As a child I remember seeing Mammy’s Cupboard on Highway 61 and was fascinated by the huge woman design. Unfortunately we were always in a hurry and did not get to stop. To me this is a great piece of Americana from a period when people did not take everything so seriously. We were thrilled to find them open on a recent trip. Fun little road side stop for lunch. Open since 1940! Obviously a local favorite as well as a traveling treat! And the pies.. unbelievable! Sky high meringue! Do stop in and take a step back in time.. what a fun new discovery!
