Really great WHEN THEY HAVE FOOD. The last 3 times I’ve been there they were out of items I wanted…especially the baked potato. If they would just keep more supplied and quit disappointing customers it would be excellent. I love fixing my own potato at the bar and their fish sandwich is excellent. The burgers have an overly charbroiled flavor that could use dialing down but are rather good intermittently.
I grew up in Tupelo in the 70s where my father owned local restaurants. His friend opened this Danver's location and it is still standing and operated by the original family/management. Being in town on such a rare occasion, I had to have lunch at Danver's and travel back in time. Sadly, the burger was very dry and tasted as though it had been under a heat lamp for a very long time. The workers at Danver’s are generally very friendly and helpful. One young woman (I believe she said her name was Adrian) was working to clean tables and reset. I have never seen anyone work faster or harder than she did!! I told her that Danver’s was lucky to have her. She told me she was lucky to have the job.
