If you like food that's been sitting, getting overcooked in a steamwell all day. Tiniest portion, barely any meat, lacked flavor. Everyone raves about this place but it was so sub par. I will never go back and neither should you. Go spend your money elsewhere where you won't be disappointed. I felt very ripped off.

5 on Black is the place to eat if you’re ever having trouble making a BM, I call it Brazilian Drano. The first time I ate there it absolutely liquified my insides. Gave them another chance and yet again ended up in and out of the restroom later that day. So, like said before, if you need to get things moving in your g.i. tract this place is for you. Brazilian Drano!

In the past food here has been good, but today I was appalled at the food and the service. Many of the food containers had not been turned out with fresh even though they were empty and until I asked the employee to stop scraping the container and get a new one he gave me old hard rice and flakey bits of collard greens. The employee clearly didn't hear my sauce request as once I got all the way back to work I found out he didn't even put ANY sauce on it!!! Not worth the money I paid and honestly am unsure when I'll be back.

I always love 5 on black. Everything is gluten free, and the cheesy bread bites give me a joy that I've only found here since going gluten free. The employee was careful to take my allergies into account with her suggestions. When they first opened, a small bowl was $5.00. Today, my small bowl was $12.00. The owners must be the same people that control the rent prices in Missoula.

Foods good but I could’ve paid for the small bowl instead of paying $15 for a large only to have it only filled halfway. It’s the amount of food that goes into a small bowl but I paid double the price. Should’ve saved the $15 and went to chipotle.

Came here because I saw it on so many "must eat lists" for Montana. The food was good. But my experience around getting the food was not great. I first tried to go to the location on Reserve to find it closed at 7:00 pm. Since I was only here for 1 more day, I didn't want to pass up the chance to eat here. When I finally got to this store around 7:50 pm, they were out of all rice and it was going to be a 20 minute wait for more. Closing time is 9:00 PM. Several other people left because of this, but like I said, I was already here so I had a bowl made with greens. There were flies buzzing around the register and self serve fountain. They were out of rice. Bottom line here is that the food was good, even though what I got was pretty much the only option. Everything was flavorful. Not sure I will be back if I'm in town again. It was a lot of effort for a mediocre experience but tasty food. They did the best they could that evening.
