One of the best Spots in the entire state and top 3 in Missoula. Great staff, relaxed atmosphere and the food stands on its own. The Ahi is a must try ?????❤

We reluctantly went back to James Bar, just because we love it so much, despite a really, really, bad experience last winter with a jerk of a waiter with an attitude. We were informed the jerk was 'let go' (yay), and we were readily recognized. Now, that is really, really nice. The menu is varied and very reasonable and we are headed back that way in the next couple nights. We still like the 'old James Bar' but the new one is good too. It is hard to beat the quality and the service here and I was very happy not to see news channels on any of the televisions. The world, especially America, is just not a good place these days, and we, like so many, just want to have an evening out just for fun. Amen? We love this place!!!!

so very marginalour burgers were hockey pucks, so overdone tasted horrible; weak drinks; incorrect order numerous times; music so loud couldn't talk. Won't slam server as she had too many tables, yet she was inexperienced...we were excited to check out new bar after renovations and after year of not eating out. i will never eat here again, nor will i recommend to any of missoula friends or any friends for that matter

For a big eater the Tapas dinning but VERY TASTY! Fun place to meet your friends after a long time. Good drinks and fun atmosphere without feeling rowdy.

This is a great spot for a light dinner and some drinks. They serve mostly sandwiches, burgers, and salads with some interesting house-made fry options. The menu was quite nice actually and I look forward to trying more of it. I got their special chocolate chip cookie dessert and it was incredible, if you're a fan of chocolate chip cookies you must go try this. Very reasonable prices.

Food was good and service was pretty good until our server left. After that we were ignored. Don't go there looking like you're hunting.

Great cocktails, small but delicious brunch menu.

A fun place. Their sliders were great! We ordered the lamb, bison and crab sliders and were happy with their presentation and flavor. They have an interesting cocktail menu as well. If you enjoy truffle fries, they have some great ones! The staff was helpful and pleasant. I'd go back.

James Bar was a great choice in Missoula. I totally loved their quinoa cakes and truffle fries and went back 2 times within a week cuz they were so tasty and I wanted to introduce my visiting friends to them. Go try em! You'll be glad you did!

I came here on a Tuesday night before the dinner rush as I was passing through Missoula on a road trip, and the service was friendly and efficient. We came for the bison burgers, and they did not disappoint! The meat was tender and cooked just right, and the chile verde gave it a pleasant kick. The bun, however, was a bit dry, perhaps not fresh that day, but it didn't take away from the overall flavor of the burger. I also ordered a house salad to split with my partner (only available as an app, not a side), and it was the perfect side portion for two people. Parking is plentiful in the front, $1 per hour and free after 5pm.
