“I went to this restaurant today for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The sitting however, was a bit different in that they had only tables and chairs and no booths. It also isn’t a very large place. My lunch entrée was a good portion size and very flavorful. I will definitely be back!! ?“
“We finally got to try A'verde in Cary! We went twice before, once when they first opened & the wait was 2 hrs. The 2nd time they were closed for a Good Network show, but they have us a $10 gift card. Ana was our server & she was absolutely amazing! Her recommendations for cocktails were on point with what we like to make at home. The food was delicious, especially the plantains with spicy honey & sour cream. Definitely get the grouper tacos! I wish I had ordered 3 of them. Chill atmosphere at late lunch time with excellent music. We left happy & full!“
“Our wait staff was awesome, very attentive, and friendly. It took a bit of time to get the food out, but we were a large party. Everyone was satisfied with the food, and the drinks were delicious. The portion sizes were good, and many of us had leftovers to take home. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean - big plus - and well stocked. We had a good time and even chatted with a few other patrons, so that says they attract a quality crowd. Great first experience!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian taco salad with beans and rice was a hit for my wife! Several vegtable options and the zucchini, squash, mushrooms and broccoli were perfection for 3 of my dinner guests. Will definitely be back again!“
“This restaurant is a Mexican and Salvadorian blend. The food: I had the shrimp, chicken, and steak plate with side a salad, rice, and bean. The rice was filling. It was fluffy, thick, and flavorful. The beans were whipped and slightly spicy. I also ordered the pork chops smoothed in onions tomatoes and peppers. It was on the Salvadorian side of the menu. The handmade tortilla was delicious.Chips, salsa, cheese dip. Name a better trio.!!!The service: Pick a seat, and the server will come to you. She was bilingual, pleasant, and super helpful with a menu. The orders were correct, hot, and timely. The atmosphere: booths and tables are available. It was a small, downhome feel. Thr arr work related mexican and Salvadorian pieces.“
“Came here recently for lunch—we had a huge party and were sat in the bar area. Food was fairly good and portions are HUGE! Would recommend the Carne Asada (skirt steak), Borrego (lamb shank) and Fajitas. Majority of the entrees come with rice and beans. For cocktails, the Mojitos were no good, quite sour and barely any liquor. Our server was also the bartender so he was busy running around trying to attend to everyone so service was a bit slow.“
“First time here, but it definitely won't be the last! Service was top tier! They made us feel at home, and were patient while we stared at the menu for 5 minutes. The place was very clean, the chips were fresh, salsa was great, 10 out of 10. They give Chipotle and Moe's a run for their money for sure!“
“They were very busy and ended up forgetting about us so ended up sitting us outside alone as they had no where to put us. It was not a warm day so a little frustrating. Waitress was super sweet and on top of it and didn't forget about us outside. )“
“We ordered molcajete, which was phenomenal! We got it because of the rave reviews, and let me tell you, the chicken and the shrimp are fantastic! Service was good. Food was authentic. Ambiance was great, kind of a family style restaurant. We definitely will be back to try other dishes off their menu! When we went back, we ordered the Pollo A La Plata. It was so tasty!“
“This is the newest of three Mi Cancun's near us. The other two feel more established in terms of atmosphere. The food and service are just as good as the other two the only difference being that this one is noisy. Probably something to do with the layout or furnishings. Lunch is very popular with Mexican tradesmen which shows the food is well regarded. Worth a look.“
“Stopped for dinner for the first time. Wow, service led by Mia the hostess and Jack of all trades and our waitress Shelby knocked it outta the park! Food was great, it was enjoyable sipping cocktails watching the staff hustling and working together to feed lots of hungry people. I congratulated the Manager for having a well trained staff who has each other's backs. Thanks again.“
“I have been going to Tijuana Flats restaurants in FL for years. We just moved up here and were very happy to discover a TF 30 mins away. The food, service and music they play / videos on TV are perfect for us. The food is better quality than one might expect from a franchise type eatery! LOVE the variety of the hot sauce bar and the queso is awesome!“
“Best Mexican food I have had outside of Mexico! Great service even though I don’t speak Spanish and the waitress didn’t have much English- we got along just fine and received what we wanted. Already looking forward to returning!Vegetarian options: Didn’t try anything vegetarian but they do have a vegetarian section on the menuParking: Strip mall with plenty of parking“
“Absolutely love this place. I ordered a strawberry margarita and quesabirria tacos and was so happy with my food and drink choice. I love birria and theirs were soooo good, can’t wait to come back. I did get a large margarita which was probably the size of my head but it was so good and reasonably priced. Will be coming back!!“
“Everything is always so good!! I've been going for 5 years now and they've never let me down. The toppings bar is always on point and I love going for the cecina. The lengua is also some of the best I've ever had. You definitely can't go wrong with grabbing a beer and getting anything off their menu, this is one of my favorite spots in this whole county.“
“I’ve had a taste for some quesabirrias for some time now and the only place that I wanted was Chido Taco! We ordered on the website but our orders were completely wrong. We called back and Kevin refunded our order. We wanted our correct order (because I was already set on quesabirrias) so we ended up re-ordering. Not only was the entire staff kind when we came to pick up our food, Kevin waited until I checked each item for accuracy! KEVIN WAS THE BEST! ?“
“Don’t miss Tacos Neza. I grab lunch from this truck at least once every couple of weeks. The tacos Neza themselves are hands down my favorite tacos I’ve ever tried, anywhere, and that is really saying something. Everything else I’ve tried from the menu is delicious as well, from the birria tacos, to the burritos and tortas. But nothing else will do when I get a craving for the tacos Neza. Even the sauces they offer are unique and delicious. Fresh and so much flavor. Highly recommend!“
“I recently ordered a catering order from Frida's for 15ish people and ordered it DAY OF the event. Not only did Frida's deliver it but everything was absolutely amazing. The food was hot, fresh and everything was top notch and absolutely delicious - highly recommend for catering. I will definitely be checking out the restaurant in person sometime soon as well!“
“Honestly, most Mexican style restaurants around here are very similar in options, quality, and pricing. Nothing stands out here, but everything tastes good and service is pretty fast. If you’re looking for upscale or authentic, this isn’t it, but for standard fare average Mexican dining it fits the bill well. I eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad meal or long wait. Only gripe is that the seating is a bit cramped, but nothing that prevents me from returning.“
“Affordable Latin American eats. While not my favorite place to order tacos and pupusas, this joint won't rock the bank like some of the other places I ate. This place is frequented by construction and other blue color workers, so you know it's gotta be bussin for the value. I ordered a variety of different tacos; pollo, asada, Al pastor, lingua and loroco pupusa. The chicken is very bland, the safe option for people with low spice tolerance. The other meats have decent flavor but tend to be on the dry and chewy side. The pupusas are lovely and I always enjoy watching them assemble and fry on the griddle. The cortido is a nice crunch and if you want other options, they have a salsa bar to tack on more. The staff speak Spanish and will try to explain what an item is, but it's best to study before hand. They're really nice and patient and will try to describe something if you didn't prepare ;) Easy lunch and quick dinner option.“
“My husband and I came to North Carolina from Pennsylvania for a friend's wedding. Our hotel was near and my husband decided to surprise me with lunch. I had no idea where we were going, we just knew we were starving. To my absolute delight he brings me here to La Cocina!!! This establishment has such a cozy, relaxed atmosphere and I loved that they were playing good old fashioned Spanish music that I was super familiar with and was able to sing along with and dance in my seat to, as I enjoyed my meal. There was a very small "lunch crowd" I guess you could call it but, not rowdy or anything of the sort thankfully. Now to the SERVICE! Our server was Alex (Alejandro actually but I guess he uses Alex for the job). This gentleman is an absolute GEM!!! From the moment he introduced himself and took our drink orders, his demeanor was wonderful. He gave awesome, detailed recommendations about the variety of sangria's and drinks that they served. I went with his recommendations! lol When he brought us our drinks, he asked if we were ready to order and I proceeded to ask him about the menu since it was my first time ever visiting. He was so detailed and took his time explaining as well as recommending a variety of items to try. My husband ordered the Tender Ribeye and I ordered the Shrimp Fajitas. They served you tortilla chips and homemade salsa as you wait for your food. Without a doubt, their house salsa is one of, if not THE best salsa both my husband and I have ever had! We told Alex how much we enjoyed it and I didn't realize it at the time but, he took note of it! (keep this in mind for later). Now, my mother back in Pa has been looking for a place that makes authentic tamales and unfortunately, we can't find anywhere back home in PA. As luck would have it, what happened to be on the menu???? You guessed it...TAMALES! lol So I told Alex about my mom's predicament with her sooooo desired tamales and told him that I would like to try one to see if I liked it, so as to bring some back to my mom. He jotted down an order for 1 along with the rest of our food and went away to the kitchen. When he comes back, this wonderful gentleman came back with not 1 but 2 tamales, each made differently, so that I may try them and decide which one to take back home. He was super attentive, truly cared about whether or not we were enjoying the food and that we had everything that we needed as well as talking with us as if we were old friends catching up after a long time. All that along with never missing a beat with his other tables! Needless to say my husband and I enjoyed our experience here in every aspect. I ended up ordering a dozen tamales to take back home lol. I thanked Alex for absolutely everything and especially for making my first ever Mexican restaurant experience in North Carolina such a wonderful one. OH, and we also took a huge container of that delicious salsa of theirs back home too! LOL! If you want a great dining experience that will make your taste buds dance, and an even more awesome dining experience because of such amazing quality servers, then definitely come here to La Cocina! My husband and I cannot wait to come back on vacation next year and eat here again!“
“Just moved to area and decided to stop on my sister’s last day in town. So glad we did!! I will definitely be a regular customer from now on!! The food was so good and the service was great. We dug in as soon as the food came out, it looked so good I forgot to take photos.“
