I have eaten at Udupi Cafe three other times and the food was always good. This past weekend, I happened to visit at lunchtime with a significant rush of customers. The sambar had been watered down in anticipation of the rush and that ruined the experience. If I go again, I will avoid lunchtime at weekends.Vegetarian options: Avoid lunchtime at weekends
Love the taste of the sambar and chutney here. Dosa tastes lovely, even chat is great. The place is always lively with people. They play good old Bollywood music. It's comfort food in a comfy Indian atmosphere. The owner is cheerful and welcoming.
