Lovely suprise when I first ate here. While shopping at the Gibson Mill Antique mall, was happy to see there was a place to eat right inside. By the looks of it, expected cheap hot dogs with not much else. However...the sandwiches are outstanding, not to mention the soup. My friend was visiting from out of town and couldn't get over how good her soup was. First time there, I had the cuban which was delish. First visit to Ellie's. It is a lunch counter with seating inside the antique mall. We visited on a weekday and it was consistently busy the entire time. The majority of the menu is sandwiches and salads you would expect, but the owner is Venezuelan and has a small section of the menu devoted to authentic dishes. We tried all 3 of them and took his suggestions for the sides and fillings. All three were hot, fresh, well seasoned, presented well and tasty! Not spicy, but very flavorful....read full review
After a couple hours of antiquing, my wife and I were a bit hungry and were delighted to find a place to eat inside The Depot at Gibson Mill.My wife ordered an Italian Combo Paninis with a side of Cole slaw. She liked it, a lot; even the side of Cole slaw. A lot of times something like Cole slaw is an afterthought, not here.
