We have been reading tons of reviews for BBQ places around Durham as we were preparing to travel through. My husband and I both, despite being on the Gulf Coast where sweet, thick BBQ sauce reigns, were raised on good Carolina style with slaw. After all the reviews and other negative reviews and frustrations we decided to just find a close one on our journey north on 85. The prices at Hog Heaven have increased and I can't justify paying those prices for lunch. For years, myself and coworkers would visit at least once a week but that is no longer the case. The ribs on Tuesdays are great and the fried chicken is normally great. It would be nice to see some lunch specials or actual deals on the special of the day.

The chicken and dumplings green beans and yams were delicious. My friends and myself, we all enjoy yourself. The place was peaceful but a little busy, but the food was really good. The people were really friendly helpful. Do appreciate that.And this is our second time going back.
