“My family and I absolutely love this place the culture and service is always on point. Kid friendly, elderly friendly, variety of food options to choose from. Max and his family does outstanding proformance serving the town of Grifton.”
“For a first-time experience it was really good, the cocktail shrimp I ordered took a long time, but the said they prepare it fresh, it was good, but not over the top on taste, as I order this meal often in many restaurants. I do recommend this place as it does great quality. Small yet comfortable.”
“Field trip experience. Service was nice, ice cream was tasty. I had been before and bought one of the jams. I went straight back over to that section to get some more, the jams are delicious.”
“They serve really good Bar-becue pork. Reasonable prices. But customer's service need a lot of work. NO Customer's should ever be address or called BUDDY. This is very offense and Not professional.”
“Love Gwendy's! Had the ooey gooey bars and cinnamon roll which were both incredible. I saw them working on a batch of cookies that look like trucks so I took a picture because I thought they looked awesome! I have ordered cakes in the past that were always perfect and delicious! I highly recommend you stop in to Gwendy's for your next sugar fix!”
“Customer Service is everything to me. Even if the food wasn’t the best, I would still support but the food WAS the best! Fresh and seasoned to perfection! Plus I felt very welcomed, great customer service. I’m a sold customer!”
“I really love the cheese biscuits! They are the best in town!! The only reason I gave the food 4 ? instead of 5 is because they deep fry the bacon. Which I am not a fan of. Other than that it is really great!”
“Great service, good food and great drinks they have steaks night on Wednesday nights at 6:00 coming right off the hot grill and that big salad bar ? Miltary friendly ???????????????”
“It’s FANTASTIC BBQ, great sweet tea, and some of the best hushpuppies out there, but one glaring problem and a couple other smaller ones are more than worth taking back a star or two.The glaring problem is that this is the smallest BBQ sandwich you’ve ever seen. As in, smaller than the palm of your hand! I didn’t even know there was a company out there that made buns this small, so the folks at Morris BBQ must’ve specifically gone looking for “how to make the world’s smallest BBQ sandwich” on purpose. The portion size is honestly insulting. It’s so small it would still be insulting even if the price was cut in half.A slightly smaller issue is the tipping screen at the takeout window if you use a credit card. What part of handing a bag through a door could possibly entitle someone with the audacity to ask for a tip?The smallest issue is that the televisions detract from the vibe of the place - folks come here to eat BBQ at a shack on the side of the road that’s been around since the early 30s… and absolutely nothing about that says “television, please”.Overall it’s great BBQ and great people, but it’s simply not worth making an effort to come back unless the portion sizes triple or more at the VERY least. The way that it is now, a toddler with an Easy Bake Oven could make you a better meal - it doesn’t matter how good the food is or how nice the people that make it are if you’ve traveled all the way out here just to get fed 3 half-bites that you carry out yourself after being asked for a tip.…and for the record, I’m only a normal guy just over 6’ tall that weighs well under 200lbs. A fat person with an appetite would probably throw a fit if they saw the cupcake-size sandwiches at Morris.”
“Great subs & onion ringsHaven't tried anything else yet.Quick serviceKid-friendliness: Small restaurant that you can bring kids to and they have a restroom.qParking: Lots of places to parkWheelchair accessibility: Easy access no issues”
“I happen to be passing through Kinston. Mark from the visitor Center suggested Kings as I wanted to sample southern style Barbeque. I took out an order of baby back ribs, it came with 2 sides.I could not wait to get to my hotel in Emerald isle so I can finally dig in.Guys the ribs were really good. The flavor of their sauce was so yummy and they were fall off the bone. It was finger liking good!!!Parking: It was quite easy to find parking. Take out orders are towards the back of the restaurant. I suggest you drive your car there to the left side of the restaurant that is facing the street. Park, go inside, place your order… pay … then wait about 5-10’ as they are very busy… at least when I got there around 5:30.Yummy!!!”
“This was our first time eating here and it won’t be our last. We both got cheeseburgers and if you want a burger that taste homemade, this is the place! The staff was exceptional and friendly! Everything tasted homemade! The cookies are to die for! Worth every penny!!!”
“This local Waffle House is beyond any normal restaurant. They have plenty of staff, friendly service, that's quick, and delicious. We are always impressed.”
“Bum's is the place Eastern bbq devotees go to eat a Big Sunday Dinner with all the trimmings. Its absolute heaven in here! Everything is on the best of level for NC Q every speck of food in there ya hear?! Bum's will make you cry its so good like Grady's, B's, Sam Jones, and The Skylight Inn. The real deal squeal !!!!!!!”
“Food was excellent and my kids loved it as well. Whoever prepared the food did a wonderful job and the waitress and staff were excellent. Great place to eat with your large family.”
“Just got lunch from here and it was delicious! Prices are reasonable and my club sandwich was huge and they didn't skimp on the meat and bacon. Onion rings were so good too. Atmosphere was very nice and staff was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!”
“Best Bbq I've ever had. Amazing food and the coleslaw is great, I don't even like coleslaw but I eat theirs. People are friendly and fill your bowl/plates, I live about 12 hours away now and if in that part of the state, we will stop.”
“Great stop off for a quick lunch with friendly ladies at the counter to chat with. Went with their hot dog "all the way" & it was the classic diner chili dog I hoped it would be. Also tried their cheesesteak & fries based on their recommendation. Crinkle cut fries were cooked fresh to order & seasoned well. The cheesesteak was done up right on their griddle, with peppers/onions smothered in cheese. Recommend it myself & I will be back for sure”
“Great atmosphere and the food is always amazing. Love eating with my family every Sunday at Rose's Kitchen. If you want good home cooked country food this is the place to go to.”
“The food is good. Fried fish and chicken is dropped fresh which is really good. The only item that I wish were different are the turkey wings in brown gravy. I’ve never seen that before in the South. The wings taste good but I’m not fond of the gravy. In my opinion it would be cooked in cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, or have a natural gravy.”
“Fast tables, great service, and by far the coldest beer in town. You can quote me on that indeed. Not very busy but the patrons that do go there on the regular are the salt of the earth. Their hours aren't correct because it's the bartenders discretion on what time is closing time based on occupancy. Get there early! Always closed on Sundays. Cheers!”
“The smell of fresh pastries is overwhelming,it's close to impossible to pick just one or two, just come home with a bag of one each and I promise you will come back. They make the most delicious bread that is like french baquet”
“Off tha chain I will definitely be going back soon...I danced so much that Sunday got up Monday my legs were sore., Great atmosphere with grown folks that know how to party and the drinks are on point...”
“Since Gage has taken over management my husband and I have seen the best improvement. The food quality is top notch and the staff goes above and beyond. Over the years we’ve had an average experience going out to eat here but it was nothing special. Now we find ourselves wanting to make this our usual spot and we will be going back very soon.”
“I wanted some good ole Jamaican cuisine and received that Curry Chicken was tender along w/gravy the 2and plate was the Oxtails w/cabbage sweet Potatoes an let's not forget the dirty rice an beans w/yams on both plates were Fabulous An will Go Back”
“Nice and clean but the managers need to hire more help only one person working alone. And lobby is full of people waiting.Dietary restrictions: I watch what I eat to control weight”
“Food order was adequate. Cashier and teammate were more interested in talking to each other than taking care of customers. Felt as if we were interrupting their conversation.”
“I signed up for the Taco Bell rewards program and was able to get a choice of one free item. I'm not too much of a Taco Bell fan ( No Offense) however, I do enjoy their chicken quesodillas.”
“Great friend chicken and sides. Spicy, crunchy, and juicy. Also try the cinnamon twists. The BBQ sandwich is also very good.Features: N/A. Covid is a non-issue.Kid-friendliness: Good kid friendly offerings.”
“A great place for eating out. The breakfast is what I go for. The food is prepared Amish style with good flavor. Their butter syrup is wonderful. Be prepared to wait to b seated because they stay busy! If you haven't tried them u must try it!!! It's Umm Umm good! Lol!”
