“We had the cheesy bread, wings and pizza. Everything was very good. The dining room has several vintage video games, a small pool table, air hockey and the counter has an assortment of vintage action figures. You can enter from the front of the shops at Nottingham or enter on the side of the building. We fed five of us for less than $60, which we can't do at most places. Staff was friendly and helpful - definitely stop in!”

There’s no meat in the shop, and I’ve only ever seen one item that contains nuts, but there could be more I haven’t noticed.Parking: At first glance it doesn’t seem like there’s a ton of parking, but there is plenty, and also plenty of exits depending on how you like to converge into traffic.Kid-friendliness: The people are incredibly kind to the kids, and there are plenty of pastries and other drinks besides coffee for any kids. I’ve seen plenty of parents in the shop, and there’s never been any issues”

“Our first visit and it was well worth it!! We made a reservation not knowing if it was going to be busy. Glad we did as it was packed. We waited about 5 minutes for our table. We later found out that there was party that had over 20 people and that out them a bit behind. We were seated and promptly greeted by our server, Grayson. He was pleasant and cordial. We made our meal choices from an excellent offering. Our soups arrived quickly and they were delicious. Our entrees took a bit longer. Gave them a little leeway in this as I am sure the kitchen was a bit backed up when 20+ orders came in at once! When the food arrived, it was well worthy the wait. Both meals were excellent. The pasta was on point. I was told it was made on site. The chicken parmesan was tender and was not overly breaded.The service was great. Grayson kept our glasses full and was attentive. The food was delicious. The restaurant had a phenomenal atmosphere. Go here if you are looking for the next best thing to going to Italy for a meal!!”

“Maxwell's is a fantastic little spot in downtown Waxhaw. It's also very popular, which is great for the restaurant, but makes it a challenge when we wanted to have lunch today. The place was packed with a bunch of people waiting outside. We put our name on the list and were told it would be about 40 minutes. No biggie, Waxhaw has plenty to offer while we wait. It's so good that this place is so well known and popular.Today I got the Grilled Salmon Salad. The salad is what is to be expected - fresh greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, croutons, hard boiled egg. Everything was fresh and tasty. On top was a spectacular piece of salmon, grilled perfectly and arrived smelling like Sunday brunch, as it was cured with maple syrup. That made it very unique. Interestingly, the aroma was wonderful, but the flavor just wasn't there. The fish itself tasted great, but the maple never really hit my tastebuds. Could be because it was lightly blackened (by design) and the crust formed there took away some of the sweetness? The fish was great, don't get me wrong, but it smelled better than it tasted. When we return, I'll get it again. I just wish the taste had a stronger maple flavor.Our pescatarian middle schooler got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. The sticks seemed pretty standard fare, but our kid really raved about how good the hummus was.As for the atmosphere, the room is bright and inviting, with classic looking tools and components on the walls. Plenty of TV's with sports. Although it was one room that was packed with people, we could still hear ourselves and carry on conversations at our table. Maxwell's loses a start for atmosphere because the tables were too jam packed together. Servers and patrons alike kept bumping into our chairs as they walked by (but everyone was polite about it). I was guilty of this too when navigating to the bathroom, as I couldn't avoid chairs which were back-to-back on my way across the room. We were seated near the bar, which is where people would stand around while waiting for a table. For some of the meal, a gentleman's behind was hovering right over my wife's shoulder as were waiting for our food to arrive. The constant bumping took away a little from our experience. If we were in a booth, we probably wouldn't have been impacted.Maxwell's is a fabulous restaurant and is a great reason to visit downtown Waxhaw!Vegetarian options: Our kid is a pescatarian and got mozzarella sticks and hummus with pita. They said it was really good hummus, so that's good. There are plenty of salads to choose from, plus a garden burger.Parking: Street parking is okay, with parallel parking on one side and angled parking on the other. You can always park around the corner on South Providence Street too.Kid-friendliness: There were plenty of kids in the restaurant from toddlers to middle schoolers. There's a kids menu with crayons too.”

“My boyfriend and I went to Pepperoni’s because of the reviews and the reviews were on point. We got the BBQ pizza with pork and garlic bread sticks. The service was great! The pizza tasted great! Loved the pulled pork on the pizza with the bbq sauce. The garlic bread sticks were great too! Definitely recommend everyone to check Pepperoni’s Pizza if you want some really good pizza!”

“An absolute hidden gem ! Lots of local items , specialty season baskets ( Easter is coming) outstanding coffee and the best baked goods . The rotation of baked goods keeps us coming back . We have sampled many items and can't pick a favorite as there as so many yummy options . The sausage balls are also delicious - a tasty protein snack that my boys cannot get enough of . The owner is friendly and welcoming- not to mention a very skilled baker with a flair for delightful treats. This weekend we grabbed hot cocoa , a bag of goodies and enjoyed a relaxing swing on the porch . A great small business . We just love The Packing House and all it has to offer. So . Darn . Good.”
