Great spot in downtown Raleigh! Nearby parking. We had the Pit Sampler to start, which was delicious. The deviled eggs and the smoked wings were awesome. We split Classic Carolina combo with green beans and the sweet potato casserole for sides. Everything was great; I particularly loved the green beans! Atmosphere was excellent, service was just as good. Would definitely come back!
I exchanged maybe 5 words with my wife over the course of our meal here because I was so intent on eating my delicious food. I didn’t even think to take a picture because by the time I thought of it, the food was already gone. Go ahead and spoil yourself and get a bit of everything with the Big Boy meat combo; chopped barbecue, beef brisket, barbecue chicken, and half rack of Carolina ribs. Cool place, good vibe, great service, buuuuut the hush puppies were the beat part of the meal. The owner description is 'pit smoked (i tasted zero smoke) free range (hmm, really?) yada, yada'. Makes ya wonder.
