“For small towns, Salisbury and Spencer are truly fortunate to have so many great, locally owned choices for dinner! For me, Pinocchio's is at the top of that list. This review is the sum of dozens of visits (we live in Salisbury). As background, I've lived all over the country, from FL to CA to VA, and I love good food! I've been to Italy many times, but I was on an aircraft carrier at the time, so I don't think that counts. The setting is an older building. Not a hole in the wall, more of a small, intimate and (to me) surprisingly cool setting. I would suggest reservations. The interior is a bit older. I think beauty sometimes requires imperfections, but I'm sure that's just me. Personally, I love the interior.Pinocchio's strives to use local ingredients as much as possible in new and interesting ways. Favorites stay on the menu while weekly specials showcase the chef's ingenuity and skill. Plating and presentation are always spot-on, as are the portions. Service is great without being intrusive. And the food never disappoints. I'm partial to the salmon, and would recommend it regardless of garnish-of-the-day. Desserts are always a delight. As to the wine selection, it looks impressive, but honestly I always get Prosecco, so I will let others critique the wine list. Two thumbs up!”
“If you have not been here, do yourself a favor, and go! The food is delicious and the prices are very fair but what will make you come back is a true testament of hometown kindness, and the best service you will ever get anywhere!”
“I ordered the big breakfast (sumn)? lol. It came with two sides, two meats, a choice of toast or pancakes. I had toast! The food was tasty. My eggs were browned, only downside, because I asked for scramble. Well done (I guess??♀️). And I say enough to feed me, and two-three toddlers depends on how much one eats! I paid about 11-12 bucks for my plate I as well ordered an orange juice, which in total cost me $15.00 for a meal and refreshment drink. Have some good crushed ice! Haha, I recommend, although I'd like to try some of their BBQ and beans one day, maybe next time, if I'm ever delivering or picking up in that area from the paper mill. Was a nice parking lot, Bobtailed, so if you're a trucker, don't bring the trailer only Bobtail! Great way to spend time with trainees while being loaded for hours! Oan, they apply automatic gratuity if using a card payment!Kid-friendliness: Nice and clean and welcoming atmosphere!!! The decorations and paintings should have a kid entertained!”
“We met this wonderful family at the Salisbury “Day Out With Thomas The Tank Engine” event. Both Laurie and Coleman were extremely friendly and welcoming. I’m a huge fan of kettle corn but if it’s overly sweet it loses me. I went with the standard kettle corn and it was fantastic. Again not overly sweet, just the right amount to balance out. We will definitely be ordering more for Christmas presents! As fellow small business owners in Fletcher, NC we take pride in supporting fellow small businesses in North Carolina!”
“This is the best Chinese food I've ever had.... They were closing up shop whene and my nephew rolled up. And instead of ignoring us they asked us if we wanted to eat. They opened back up and made what we ordered promptly. They were really nice and I gave them a tip for being awesome. ?”
“Not only do I work here, but I love this place altogether. Plus the manager of the spencer location, danielle mason, is amazing. She's so loving and caring to each one of her customers and genuinely loves her store”
“It was ok but I have never been to that area and I felt like I was going to see a drive by anytime. Plus they messed up on my order and didn't give me it all but just felt like I shouldn't say anything just because of the bad feelings I was having with the area.”
“A Symphony of Smoke: A Culinary Journey at Smoke Pit BarbecueIn the heart of Salisbury, North Carolina, amidst whispers of barbecue bliss, lies a culinary haven known as Smoke Pit Barbecue. Guided by the fervent recommendations of local friends, we embarked on a flavorful expedition, eager to savor the essence of true Southern barbecue. As we crossed the threshold of this gastronomic sanctuary, I was met with a surprising dichotomy. The modernist allure of Smoke Pit, with its sleek interior and contemporary accents, danced in harmony with the rustic charm expected of a barbecue sanctuary. Adorned with the vibrant creations of local artists, the walls whispered tales of community and culture, setting the stage for an unforgettable feast.Seated promptly by the effervescent Daisy, our journey began. With each glance at the menu, anticipation swelled within me, fueled by the promises of succulent brisket and smoky delights. Despite a slight misstep in communication, where my yearning for onion rings was lost in translation, the culinary voyage pressed on.In the company of cherished friends, we embarked on a symphony of flavors, each dish a crescendo of taste and texture. My chosen muse, the Brisket sandwich on a brioche canvas, beckoned with tender whispers of smoke-kissed perfection. Though marred by a lingering vein of fat, the brisket exuded a melody of flavor that danced upon the palate, a testament to the artistry of Smoke Pit's craft.Beside me, my wife reveled in the indulgence of a brisket-loaded baked potato, its hearty embrace a testament to the decadence of Southern comfort. As our friends delved into the BBQ mixer platter, a cornucopia of barbecue delights, laughter mingled with the heady aroma of smoked meats, weaving memories as intricate as the flavors before us.Amidst the clinking of glasses and the laughter of companionship, Smoke Pit Barbecue transcended the realm of mere dining, becoming a tapestry of shared moments and cherished memories. For in the alchemy of good food and great company, bonds are forged and stories are woven, each meal a chapter in the epic saga of friendship.Though Smoke Pit Barbecue may have faltered in the pursuit of ambiance, its soulful offerings and warm hospitality earned it a place in our hearts. With a variety of sauces adorning our table like treasures waiting to be discovered, each bite was a revelation, a testament to the culinary prowess that resides within these hallowed walls. In the tapestry of life, where flavors intertwine and memories are etched upon the palate, Smoke Pit Barbecue stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, beckoning travelers and locals alike to partake in its savory symphony. For in the embrace of good food and good friends, true magic is found, a sentiment that lingers long after the last bite is savored.Rating: A-Thomas CorraoWe are a couple traveling around the USA in our RV. “Has the cod platter, cod was freshly fried with good flavor and very tasty, I always like crinkle fries and the coleslaw tasted almost like my mother in law's which I always thought was the best I ever had. Wish there was a Culver's near me. I will go back again when I am in Sali, NCWheelchair accessibility: I am a senior citizen and saw other customers in wheelchairs so I assume there is handicap availability”
“Vegetarian options: Also vegan selection! Chef went out of his way to make us vegan spicy mayo without our asking to go with our (vegan) dumplings, which were amazing!!”
“I have loved everything I've tried here. You can't go wrong with Salty Caper Pizza! Tried the Sgabei & it's amazing! We have to have some every time we're ”
“Our family of four came into downtown Salisbury to attend the Nutcracker performance at Catawba College. We do not live locally so we didn't prepare for the demand on local restaurants that evening. Without reservations, we were unable to be seated at two other nearby restaurants. My husband walked into Carpe Vinum and despite having no reservations and a quick timeline (45 minutes) they were able to seat us at the bar. The bartender was very pleasant and accommodating. Through her service and the kitchen's quick response, we enjoyed a wonderful meal and never felt rushed. My daughters loved their espresso martini and aperol spritz. Between the four of us, we enjoyed a grilled wedge salad, a caesar salad, lobster bisque, sliders, tuna bites and fried shrimp. It was all wonderful! Thank you again for a great dinner and the hospitality. We will be back!”
“When your tired of the fast food norm.....like I am I try hole in the wall spots all the time and this one, was different. Small quick and easy menu, reminds me of in and out.....and the service and atmosphere are great. Staff is welcoming and the historic feel of the place brings you a small town feel. I got the hotdog and cheeseburger all the way......fast service and it's done right in front of you. I would have preferred more of a seer on the burgers and a little more snap on the dog......reminds me of a meatball/pulled beef formed into a patty. Little seasoning would also help with the bland flavor, but overall I would rate the overall experience a 7.2 out of 10.”
“Came to Koco Java for a partial work day with a friend and loved the ambience! The staff was friendly and the americano & muffin were fantastic. Highly recommend this spot!”
“We absolutely love the Grove Cartel. They have a wonderful atmosphere, staff, food and beverages. We go routinely to either eat upstairs or sit and relax downstairs. They often times have live music, music bingo, and other activities to involve the community. A definite must try!!! You will not be disappointed!!”
“This place is amazing I have never tasted anything like their macaroons at Tita’s cake house! I would definitely recommend for a sit down relaxing place to eat a sweet treat!”
“My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years now since we found the place. Hands down our favorite Mexican cuisine in the area; the birria and street tacos are incredible and they have the best horchata. Service is always great, and food never takes long.”
“Such high quality food. Its a well loved lunch for the entire office. The best part is that I dont feel poorly when eating it because its all such nutritional and fresh ingredients. We all get the wraps.”
“My son and I had dinner and loved everything we ate. It was too much food, but we wanted to try a lot, so we shared the tropical sampler, garlic shrimp, olives, fried potatoes, beans and rice, and flan. He hadn't eaten Cuban food before and was very impressed. The atmosphere and decor is really special. They also have a great choice of beer on tap, wine, and cocktails.”
“Archie's, has some of the best ox tails and jerk chicken I've found they have great friendly service, the perfect atmosphere for Jamaican Vibes make sure you Check Out!!! ARCHIE'S TROPICAL ”
“I had never heard of this place and certainly didn't realize it was a chain until pulling it up on Google Maps. I ate here on Friday and it was spectacular. I was very happy with the pancakes and the livermush+egg+cheese sandwich. I also had a bite of hashbrowns and country fried steak. I highly recommend this place because not only was the food great, but the service was wonderful and the price was right.”
“I got the chicken sovlaki pita with fries. The fries were nice and crisp, the chicken pita was pretty big, and I felt like a good amount of food for the price, but it was too plain! I almost couldn't taste it, so it wasn't bad, just nothing to write home about. I was disappointed maybe some of their other food has more flavor and seasoning.”
“Under new ownership and in the come up.Multiple workers were of great help.Has restaurant, food is mid for now.2 bay tire shop, maybe mechanic, I'm not sure.Owned by people, not a huge company ?Probably has about 30-35 parking spots.”
“The food is good but inconsistent with the spice. The first time we went, the spice was perfect (ordered level 3 out of 5). The next two times, we ordered spice at level 3 and 4 and it was not spicy at all, and was actually more sweet than anything.”
“Wednesday is the day to go. Their Dipped Chicken will make you lick your plate? The baby flounder and white fish are awesome too. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but well with the wait. Slap my mouth awesome! All this with a gorgeous view of the Lake.Parking: Plenty of parking unless you are vying for a spot with those folks just heading to church or just getting out.Kid-friendliness: So many good choices for kids they're too busy eating to misbehave. Staff is very attuned to their needs.Wheelchair accessibility: Flat ramp to the inside with plenty of maneuvering room once you're inside. Reserved disabled parking right at the door.”
“Made to order, fresh everytime, worth the wait. If you support local businesses that support local businesses... you can't beat the local food products that are used on the menu. We love the 2nd Sunday Brunch.”
“Heard so much about this place so I decided to try it for lunch. Great choice. I got a sample of the chicken salad and it was just like homemade. Ordered some and had the pulled pork tray for lunch. Another great choice. The cashier was so friendly and nice and was patient as it was my first visit. I am definitely returning soon. Price was reasonable and money well spent. Hight recommend for some home cooking. Can’t wait to go back to try other menu items.”
“We ordered take out for dinner. The take out service was awesome. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our food was good and hot. The Queensland Chicken and Shrimp Pasta is becoming my favorite thing to eat.”
“One of our "go-to" places for Mexican food. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service is prompt, staff are friendly and they checked in with us several times.”
