Karen and her husband have a really great business. They did a cake for our wedding and that was a talk point for the night. 3 tiers with each tier being a different flavor. Chocolate 6 layer, strawberry cheesecake, and lemon cheesecake. Everyone wanted more cake! You won't be disappointed if you get cake here. We try to stop by every time we are in the area.
A friend and I had a nice and relaxing cake date at Karen's/Cafe Pharr. I chose the Reese's cake with the cheesecake layer. Not a strong taste of Reese's, but many kinds of goodness.Best of all was simply sitting on the very comfortable and beautiful porch talking. We never felt rushed, but instead welcomed at every moment.They are only open We'd-Fri from 12-5. It's a nice way to relax!
