“What an Awesome Place! We chose Hollars Backstreet Grill as our Family Outing food destination today after seeing all the glowing reviews online and they DID NOT LET US DOWN! To start off as we walked in we were greeted and chatted up by a local Legend Mr Benfield of Benfield Insurance in Taylorsville and he made us feel right at home. We all ordered our lunch and I went with the Double Bacon Cheeseburger my Wife had the Grilled Chicken My Daughter had the Chopped BBQ plate and we took our seat and enjoyed our conversation with Mr Benfield. A few mins passed and our food was out... HOT FRESH & FAST ! I knew instantly when I seen this MONSTER of a Burger I had bitten off more than I could chew quiet litterally. The first bite and I got the sear of the patty... the fresh tomato.. snap of the onions and that crispy bacon smothered in cheese! Without a doubt one of the BEST BURGERS I have ever had hands down. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and very juicy and flavorful and the BBQ was just as good as the rest of the meal. We are so glad we made the right call on our choice to eat this evening and would like to thank Everyone we met and everyone working for an Amazing Lunch! (And Supper when I can finish my other half of my Burger) If you ever find yourself in Taylorsville and looking for a bite to eat and people that treat you like family... look no further than Hollars Backstreet Grill! We cant wait til we are back that way again!”

“I come to this town often to visit family and had heard about this place and SO glad I stopped to get coffee! We've had coffee at a lot of places and this was the absolute best! My daughter and Mom were speechless after trying their drinks! My mom is typically a plain coffee person and she said the caramel macchiato was the best she'd ever had! My daughter usually likes the Frappes but got an iced Potters potion this time and I don't think she's going back to frozen! You can't beat the prices or the friendly service!! “We had been waiting for perch to be back on the menu and it did not disappoint! As always, the food was delicious! The salad bar is a star all by itself, and everything we have ordered has been great. The grilled salmon is especially top notch. We came for a late lunch on Sunday, so we only waited a few minutes for our table.All of the servers are attentive and friendly. It's a 25 minute drive for us to this restaurant, but worth it every time!”

We went on a Sunday at an odd time and it was only us the whole time and I was definitely surprised because of how good the food was. Batter on the fish and chips was light. Cost was just a little higher than some yet what you would expect to pay at a mediocre restaurant in the city. Well worth it for the atmosphere, entertainment when they have live music. Will definitely be returning to try other menu items.”

“This place was great they stay open till 10:00 on a Sunday which is rare for small towns in North Carolina. Are waitress was absolutely amazing she was attentive maid polite conversation with us. Recommended items on the menu to us. I'm a picky eater and I had absolutely nothing to complain about at this meal. The ranch dressing is House made and was tasty. I enjoyed a Belgian waffle with pecans and extra crispy hash browns . My companion had the Philly cheese steak with bacon and french the steak was actual cut steak and not stake'ems type of meat which we greatly appreciate. Will 100% be back as Me and my companion enjoyed our meals thoroughly. “Aside from having delicious pastries and cakes, Kiley is so kind-hearted and goes above and beyond for her customers! Her cakes taste as good or even better than they look. I live out of town, but wanted to order something special for my mom and grandma on Valentine’s Day. “I’m obsessed. Best Peruvian restaurant I’ve been to in NC. Well priced for the quality and authenticity of the food. I’m Peruvian, so my standards are high - and I am so glad I found this gem on my road trip. I had the ceviche carretillero which was perfection. If you can handle a little spice - you’re gonna be licking your plate at the end. The maracuya sour was divine and the pisco wasn’t overpowering which is just how I like it. I live 2.5 hours from here and I’ll be back. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. 10/10. Hickory, y’all are lucky to have access to a restaurant like this. “My wife orders the Steak Sandwich, w/o Tomato, and my go-to is a simple, 10-inch Pizza, either Plain Cheese, or with 1 topping, such as Onions. I like a crust that's thin, but not hard, a good, light sauce that isn't overly sweet or salty and doesn't dominate, and for my topping, when I choose to get one, to also not completely take over. For me, the Cheese has to be outstanding and be the star. I consistently get all of that at Giovanni's. If you're in the Taylorsville area and feel similarly about Pizza, this is your place.
