I’ve been going to this La Carreta for over 20 years and it has been an amazing tradition every time I come home for the holidays.Unfortunately some things have changed and not for the better. The chips and the salsa are both new. The salsa is okay but the new chips are a significant downgrade.I also have only gotten one entree for the last twenty+ years: a grande burrito with chicken. Highly recommend! I LOVE Mexican food, and I visit a lot of different places. I have to say that this place is at the top of my list for Winston-Salem! The food was great, the meat was all very tender!One of my deal breakers for a new restaurant is the chips and salsa. If you can't make good salsa, then I'm done. Their salsa is great! Great flavor, and just the right amount of spice!

Honestly I love this spot. The gentleman who I see at the door (presumably the owner) is always quick to welcome us in. We have a family of five including two children under 6 which they happily welcome. Service and food are always spot on. This will continue to be our favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming for parents with small children.
