“Has taken me too long to come here but this was some of the best food I’ve had in Winston. Everything we had was good, including the rotisserie chicken which was excellent, the seasonal salad with butternut squash (if you’re into salads and squash), the tomato bisque, complimentary bread, and pepperoni pizza which was a good size. Would prob skip the pizza next time, not because it wasn’t good because it was, but to try something else. Ended the meal with espresso martini and bread pudding which were also good (note that the bread pudding can take up to 25 min so plan ahead).“
“I have found the greatest soul food restaurant of all time. If you haven't been to this unbelievable utopia of soul, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Let me tell ya the food has a soul of its own. The spices, the textures, and aromas are some that you will never forget. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting with the light sounds of jazz and soul music. There is not a TV in sight. The perfect lighting and colors soothe your mind, and the food feeds your soul. We had a wonderful waiter (James) whose energy and charisma were magnetic and charming (thank you, James, you made our night). The desserts were absolutely heavenly. Props go out to the fabulous chefs and staff that run this precious gem. We will definitely be visiting here again to heal our souls the next time we are back in town . Thank you so much for the most wonderful evening, and may God bless you all.“
“I ordered the Honey Heat Chicken sandwich with fried okra. The chicken sandwich was wonderful...tender and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. Even though it was deep fried, it wasn't greasy tasting. The fried okra was on point as well.“
“My first time, the food was like cafeteria style, so much to chose from good old southern style cooking. The food looked fresh it had not been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I ordered fish which was cooked fresh. The place was very clean and the ladies that worked was clean also. I will tell a friend and I will go back.“
“Sooooo good! I got the grilled pork chops with mashed potatoes and fried squash. The seasoning on the pork chops was perfect and they were super juicy. The mashed potatoes and fried squash tasted great as well. Environment was super clean, organized and comfortable. Service was also good, our waitress was very nice. Great comfort food, will be back for more :).“
“We visited the weekend after Valentines day and they were out of alot of items but it was still delicious. I enjoyed the lobster Mac and cheese! Highly recommend. I do suggest with the Ceasar salad they add more croutons and cheese! I have recommended this place to lots of people. It's beautiful.“
“The staff are very hospitable! The food is good and hot. Prices are reasonable. Portions are very reasonable. The atmosphere is very relaxing and you're never made to feel rushed.Parking: It's located in a strip mall where parking is always availableWheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible“
“Very very nice server.Ordered some fries whiting with collard greens and potato salad. Also had grilled salmon with string beans and corn on the cob. Cornbread was also good and roll was typical.Everything came out hot and fresh. Nothing was too salty and the food was well seasoned. The restaurant was clean inside and the bathroom was okay.“
“I would come back here all the time just to interact with the lovely lady at the register. It's cool seeing the biscuit dough get worked too. I bet that's an awesome workout! We were passing through and this place was a good compromise between fast food and a sit down place - its Sunday too. I had to try the local cherry drink- via fountain. Very good. Bonus points for paper cups in some sizes. I also had to try the French vanilla iced latte- pretty good! My partner and I each had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. He immediately noticed the bacon wasn't crispy, and when he pulled it off, we saw it was quite under done. He also disliked the cheese. (I was hungry - don't judge me) so he took it to the manager, was offered another biscuit. He wanted a refund. We compromised with a baked good. I would love to go back and try the creme broulee iced coffee and cinnamon roll!! (Probably some eggs too)“
“I was looking for somewhere local to grab lunch to go and sell this place on Google maps. Decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. The building was a very small common non-descript building out in the country kind of away from the city. The whole staff it seemed consisted of one married couple with the wife up front and the husband running the kitchen. I ordered the pork chops with mashed potatoes and pinto beans and cornbread. When they handed me my food she said my husband thought you should have some collard greens to go with it for no charge. The food was really, really exceptional. The pork chops were amazing and everything else was just super good. If you're looking for some really nice soul food, and really friendly people, I definitely suggest you check this out. Do what“
“Family atmosphere with a variety of food from which to choose.VERY Inexpensive. You certainly get your money's worth. Make sure you don't skip out on the desserts. The strawberry cheesecake is scrumptious. The cake portion is very plentiful. Our waitress was very nice and appreciative of our business throughout.“
“Although I am not a fan of the closeness of tables, the space is warm and inviting. I had the green chile pork bowl with two poached eggs. The pork was not visually appealing and the green chiles sauce had a strong aroma that I was not very fond of. But when I mixed everything together... the taste was amazing. The pork was super tender and the grits were yummy delicious. Solid dish.“
