I was travelling through on my way to spread my father’s ashes and had arrived after a challenging day where I’d driven through a hailstorm and ended up in the middle of nowhere with a flat. I mentioned this to my kind waitress, Kandi, who relayed that to the chef, Thomas. He decided to make me an AMAZING blueberry cobbler cheesecake, complete with a rose carved in a strawberry, to help me feel welcomed in Nebraska.
