“Not staffed well, poor lady was taking the orders and making everything by herself. Took 25 minutes from ordering to get to window and then 5 more minutes for her to make our coffee.”

“I called to have a custom baseball cake made for my son’s 1st Birthday and they were able to get it done in short notice over the weekend for us. I told them to give it their own twist and they made it in the shape of a ball! It was the best vanilla cake I’ve ever had!!! So impressed! Did not disappoint! Highly recommend this place for all your bakery needs!”

“Hands down the best food from any restaurant I’ve eaten at. I’d like to say my taste buds likely share similar preferences to those of many others. I’ve also eaten at >500 various eateries around North America. All that to say i can be trusted.Every time i eat here it blows me away how incredible the food is. I literally brown out in ecstasy while eating only to wake up to an empty plate. I’m not sure if they sprinkle crack on the food before they send it out, or what. The meatloaf is my go-to. Pair it with a pint of Kilkenny and you can’t go wrong. Im getting hungry writing this review. I gotta stop here before i drool on my phone screen.”

“Excellent bakery! The apple fritters are the best anywhere but everything is good with locally famous doughnuts and excellent pies. I look forward to going every time I'm in the area. Get there early before favorites sell out.”

“We went for lunch. Our server was Paul. The nicest man. He ran to give me my jacket I left on the back of my chair. He also ran outside but we had gone because my friend left her credit card on the table. We turned around went back and Paul was so professional and sweet. He was so happy we came back to pick up the credit card. Food was delicious. Atmosphere was amazing. Nice and bright and clean.”

“Iconic area for coffee and ancillary goods. Very friendly staff willing to take extra measures to ensure customers receive quality products and service.Management recently posted some rules of Internet Etiquette. These are necessary to maintain a friendly environment particularly when common courtesy is an afterthought. And, I appreciate the message indicating the consequences of violations. Quite simply, the offender will be summarily uninvited. Good!”

“Outstanding in every way. The food is fabulous and service is impeccable. You cannot beat the atmosphere in this gorgeous Victorian mansion with mountain views out the back windows. They have seating on their porch as well as a unique bar in the basement that you must see if you are lucky enough to visit. We’ve been there three or four times now and I always look forward to going back.”

“Food was excellent. As a yaadie (Jamaican), I can vouch for the authenticity of the food here. The Jerk Chicken and the Oxtail were properly seasoned, if anything, a bit mild on the pepper heat side but very flavorful. The chef came out and explained his marinade process and how each dish is cooked from scratch, and it is evident in the food. In fact, my picky 9yo wanted chicken tenders without any seasoning and the chef whipped up a batch without a fuss and he loved them!server was very pleasant and we really enjoyed the dining experience. We will definitely be back on our next trip to this area. Rispeck!!!”

“First time. Place was hopping … fun atmosphere with lots of locals. Staff all in a great mood, service awesome. Had steak tips and Reuben. Homemade French fries.Old fashioned dessert case with pies cakes and cheesecakes. Wish I had room for the lemon cream pie but alas, the sandwich portion was huge! Priced well at 15.00. We will be back!”

“This place is unreal- amazing food, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and incredibly clean. It’s hard to believe that their baked goods are gluten free! I think they are also dairy free. We got a bunch of things from their baked good case to try stuff out and everything was TOP notch. These people are experts in their craft! Go there!”

“Great products! We got a delicious loaf of bread that was beautifully fresh and soft. The pastries are wonderful. The ginger apricot scone is unique and very memorable. It’s been 2 months since my visit here, and I’m still thinking about it. Too bad I’m miles away. If I’m ever in the area, I’ll make it my mission to return to this succulent treat.”

“This place slaps! I grew up coming to North Conway every weekend and have been to nearly every restaurant/food stop in the area. This is by far the best food I have had. “Place was packed for Saint Patrick's husband and sons band were performing there. Liked the selection of beers that they have and their pizza was really good. Would like to go back up in the Summer to hang outside in their lawn area. The beer slushy was really good.”

“Welcoming and laid back breakfast spot. My family and I enjoyed our time here, the staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the steak bowl which was absolutely delicious, the picture doesn't do it justice. My sister also enjoyed her veggie bowl. It seems like the bowls are the way to go. We also ordered the onion rings as an app, they were cut really thin so you taste more batter than the onion, but they were tasty. If you're looking for a breakfast spot, it's worth the stop in!”

“Came here to celebrate my Vegan-niversy with some sweets -- so incredibly worth the drive out. Also got the buffalo wrap and it was a great combination of spicy and cool -- very well proportioned protein to veggie ratio and filling. But what REALLY takes the cake (pun intended) are the vegan baked goods! Got a s'mores bar and a raspberry bar: Only eaten the former thus far, and it was AMAZIING. Not a bad bite to be had - good size, not sickly sweet, and super satisfying with fabulous flavor. The only potential con (I was fine because I was in no hurry) is to be prepared for a wait -- especially if you order in person. There's only one lady and she's amazing, but she can only do so much. Be patient -- it's Worth it!”

“We went with a party of 10, they were understaffed and working as hard and fast as they could gettting drinks and food orders. The kitchen had no problem keeping up, putting out appetizers and entrees in a timely manner. The portions are actually too large to finish. The chef is talented and puts out food that is creative and cooked well. This restaurant is a nice addition to the town of Fryeburg. Thank-you for a wonderful meal and taking care of my family . “The Underground Bakery & Cafe is a very cozy and comfortable place. They had so many delicious options I got the House sandwich with steak and it was amazing and very savory, the pretzels with the sandwiches are so good too. The staff were so polite and friendly. Good portion size for the price. The pastries all look fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back to try all their amazing pastries.”

“Very nostalgic and fun... Easy to get lost in here for an hour poking around and picking little gifts for people. We found silly christmas gifts for friends and fam, but also we're pleasantly surprised by the selection of science toys and kits. What a cool find!”

“Danette is absolute magic! Not only did she make our wedding cake to perfection but she also made fresh Whoopie Pies, Tiramisu, mini cheesecake bites, and chocolate covered strawberries that were out of this world. We trusted Danette from start to finish and would use her again in a heartbeat.”

“This is a quant little locally owned establishment, it has stepped up in technology as far as ordering and paying for it, and still keeps the old time Pizza/Sub shop vibe going. They even have outdoor seating when the weather is right. I would recommend it.”
