“We went here for an evening, 6 person, reservation dinner during the winter months. The food was great and so was the service. This time we (2 people) went just for appetizers at the bar, and the food and service were still just as good. I'd definitely recommend coming here, whether it be for dinner, desert or just a few drinks. You won't be disappointed.”

“Another fabulous evening spent celebrating the creativity, food, service and atmosphere at THE. From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome in the cozy space. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the dishes and the true farm to table, local, organic, method of preparation that goes into each bite. The menu is carefully crafted with what’s in season and uses the most local ingredients available. Tonight we had the artisanal cheeseboard (added chorizo, pesto and gluten free crackers) which we enjoyed with quince paste, whole grain mustard, pickled beets, cheddar, drunk Alice, and a blue. Perfect and just enough for 4. The farm fresh duck egg with polenta and tomato jam was cooked perfectly and a rich bite. We also had the roasted butternut squash and fennel soup which was velvety and smooth and the croutons offered a nice crunch! For entrees we had the homemade Creste di Gallo carbonara which was a light veggie forward version and delicious! We also had the chicken cacciatore over jasmine rice. The chicken was cooked perfectly and still moist with great flavor from the veg. For dessert we enjoyed a French press decaf, vanilla bean ice cream and the beignets with ALL the sauces! To die for! Our servers Zoe and Caitlin were wonderful, attentive but not hovering..it is an experience to dine here and we can’t wait to be back! Thank you Thompson House Eatery, Chef Jeff and family!”

“I called to have a custom baseball cake made for my son’s 1st Birthday and they were able to get it done in short notice over the weekend for us. I told them to give it their own twist and they made it in the shape of a ball! It was the best vanilla cake I’ve ever had!!! So impressed! Did not disappoint! “Hands down the best food from any restaurant I’ve eaten at. I’d like to say my taste buds likely share similar preferences to those of many others. I’ve also eaten at >500 various eateries around North America. All that to say i can be trusted.Every time i eat here it blows me away how incredible the food is. I literally brown out in ecstasy while eating only to wake up to an empty plate. I’m not sure if they sprinkle crack on the food before they send it out, or what. The meatloaf is my go-to. Pair it with a pint of Kilkenny and you can’t go wrong. Im getting hungry writing this review. I gotta stop here before i drool on my phone screen.”

These are necessary to maintain a friendly environment particularly when common courtesy is an afterthought. And, I appreciate the message indicating the consequences of violations. “Welcoming and laid back breakfast spot. My family and I enjoyed our time here, the staff were friendly and helpful. I tried the steak bowl which was absolutely delicious, the picture doesn't do it justice. My sister also enjoyed her veggie bowl. It seems like the bowls are the way to go. We also ordered the onion rings as an app, they were cut really thin so you taste more batter than the onion, but they were tasty. If you're looking for a breakfast spot, it's worth the stop in!”

“My husband and I had a great meal. He had veal parm, it melted in your mouth. I had chicken picata, yummy. The penne pasta in both meals was al dente. The meals came with a nice side salad with italian dressing and fresh bread with great dipping oil. If you love Italian food and are in North Conway this is the place to go. “Had a dinner there last night with the wife. Have been here a few times over the years and it continues to impress. Had the Ribeye and was cooked to perfection. But what REALLY takes the cake (pun intended) are the vegan baked goods! Got a s'mores bar and a raspberry bar: Only eaten the former thus far, and it was AMAZIING. Not a bad bite to be had - good size, not sickly sweet, and super satisfying with fabulous flavor. The only potential con (I was fine because I was in no hurry) is to be prepared for a wait -- especially if you order in person. There's only one lady and she's amazing, but she can only do so much. Be patient -- it's Worth it!”

“The Underground Bakery & Cafe is a very cozy and comfortable place. They had so many delicious options I got the House sandwich with steak and it was amazing and very savory, the pretzels with the sandwiches are so good too. The staff were so polite and friendly. Good portion size for the price. The pastries all look fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming back to try all their amazing pastries.”
