“Food is always amazing and wonderful. We eat here all the time and I never have any issues. If something is wrong they always correct it right away. The calamari is amazing and so is their shrimp Parms that I usually get with vodka sauce or their chicken bacon ranch slice. I would absolutely recommend this place if you are in the area.“
“Hands-down the best pizza I’ve had out of all the spots I’ve been to in NY/NJ. The crust is thin and crunchy, the tomato sauce is delicious and not too sweet (which many places these days seem to get wrong), and there is a perfect ratio of cheese. Each time I’ve been here, the proprietor is also always exceptionally friendly and nice. Highly recommend.“
“I have tried every pizza spot in a 10-mile radius of my home. This is the best pizza in my area. The empanadas are divine. Get the chicken and cheese. You won't regret it. Its filled to the brim with chicken, and they don't try and cheat u with the filling. Amazing place. Food is top quality.“
“Sal Calabrese is a master pizza maker and the rest of the menu is awesome too. My favorite is the Sicilian Baked Ziti with eggplant. OMG:)All his ingredients are fresh and the portions are fantastic. I know my pizza folks and he's in the Top three for me. Nothing of my choices include the fast food chains. I feel like I'm having a meal cooked by Family. Sal always has a great smile and great jokes but also gives you a lot of history regarding the area. I'm a regular and even though I cook 80% of my meals at home, Sal is my go to guy when I don't feel like cooking. His other chef Julio and his mom are like family too. It's really cool to see his family stopping by for a meal. Reminds me of my trips to Italy where I only frequent mom and pop restaurants.He's open Super Bowl Sunday folks so put your orders in early. “When we left Jersey several years back, we have been looking for an Italian restaurant that could step into the shoes of our Friday night-out dinners at the original Nutley/Clifton Bella Napoli near Route 3. Unpretentious, small, crowded with unbelievable sole franchese, pasta, and bread. When I ordered the chicken franchese here, I was transported back to the original and best Bella. This place is brick wall warm, inviting, and unpretentious. When we get back here from the woods and lakes of Michigan to visit family and friends, this will be our “go-to” haunt for great food, service, and authentic, down-to-earth dining.“
“I just recently moved to Newark New Jersey from NYC in 2022. I was afraid to try any NJ pizza because NY has the best pizza lol. My man wanted pizza last night so I googled pizza shops near me with the best ratings and came across Avenue Pizzas. I ordered garlic wings, 16 inch pizza pie and garlic knots with extra fresh garlic To my surprise the garlic knots was amazing, the pizza was fresh and flavorful and the garlic wings wasn’t what I expected. They were breaded, fried and fresh garlic was placed on top of them. I never had garlic wings like that. I normally have them fried or baked without the bread and coated with the sauce on top but it was a different experience for me which I enjoyed. But I won’t be ordering those anymore. My man ate the whole pie last night which means something. ? However, you do have a customer for life and i would like to try the specialty pizzas in the near future. Thank you for exceeding my expectations.“
“the peppers, onions, and chicken quasadilla was VERY good. the tap beer was fresh with clean lines. the bartender, while friendly, was a teeny bit distracted.Parking: there is a lot behind the pub. there is a convenient rear entrance from the lot to the pub. a nice feature on a cold night.“
“I had a very good experience back in August of 2023 when I was staying with a buddy in Bloomfield when I flew from from St Louis, Missouri. I had a bacon & pepperoni pizza with a side of wings. The food was amazing along with their customer servics. I will definitely come back in May of 2024.“
“I’m not sure why this place has only 3.8 stars. There must be another pizzeria having people leave negative reviews. One of them even claimed turtle pizza has the most expensive pizza ? turtle pizza has some of the most competitive and affordable pricing around. It’s why I decided to take a gamble and try them. We had ordered a large plain pizza, Buffalo chicken hero, fries, a pepperoni slice, and a grilled chicken salad. We ordered on a Monday. The slowest day for a restaurant. The food was incredible and super fresh. My friend even took her salad to work the next day and she couldn’t believe how fresh it still was. Highly reccomend.“
“This place is stellar! I had stopped in a few weeks ago on a whim to grab a bite and they knocked it out of the park on that visit so expecations were high. I was in tonight with a friend, we sat at the bar and Nicole the bartender took incredible care of us! I was in the mood for a gin cocktail, and she offered to make me something off menu. What she crafted was absolultey delitcable, perfectly balanced, and incredibly easy to sip! Her skills as a bartender are superb, and her service is next level. The food delivered as well, the steak sandwich was tender, packed with flavor, and something that I will be coming back for again as long as it is on the menu! Truly a great experience, food and cocktails were great, Nicole's service and expertise as a bartender made tonight extraordinary!“
