The owner Sammy is very involved with every customer that comes through the door and makes you feel welcome which is a lovely disposition to have. I got the chicken and rib combo with fries and veggies, along with a shisk kabob the food is tasty, so come on down and get yourself a slab of goodness and if you order the kabob ask for the sauce it's tasty with it I forgot it on mine but good still. “We have been coming to Valenca for many, many years and rarely disappointed. Today, we both ordered cod two different ways. The fish tasted fresh, the sides, boiled potatoes, and broccoli were clean and worked perfectly with Chris's cod due to the saltiness of the fish. My first time trying fried pieces and their potato salad. Again, my cod tasted incredible. The cod was not that salty, and the understated potato salad was an excellent combo. I usually like tarter sauce with my fried fish, but this dish did not need anything but a squeeze of lemon. So good. Didn't get a chance to take pics of dessert, coffee, and after lunch liqueurs, but a great ending to our lunch/early dinner. In addition to the meal we ordered a bottle of wine and house salad. We noticed that 20% gratuity is now included in the bill. Something new. We don't mind the addition since we always leave at least that amount. But I'm sure there are a lot of peeps that don't appreciate and / or reward good service. One last point, we always sit in the bar section.“

Corned beef cabbage sandwich or AYCE platters. At $16 for the platter option and $17 pitcher of beers, we were all happy. Also $6 guinesses and $17 beer pitchers (limited but Labatts was available, my choice). Good service, multiple folks checked in often to see if we needed anything and more platters. Me being the glutton, obviously got my money's worth ;) Got to witness the bagpipe band (2 pipers and drumer), celebrated with the locals (we got hats and necklaces), seated right away in the booths (also back room and outside tables were available). Family friendly, full of locals, good kitchen and decent taps at good prices. While we didn't look Irish, we were welcomed as one at Obal's. We had a good StPat's celebration here. We will be back.“

“I absolutely love this place. I have a very bad case of long covid since October 2021 where almost everything smells and tastes rotten or sickly sweet. I am able to eat the hot pot miso ramen soup with a lot of different vegetables, and I can have the chocolate cake/cupcakes. So delicious! I can also eat the white rice and the grilled pineapples. Before finding out that I can have all of this, I was losing a massive amount of weight, thank God for the few things that I can have here, I’m able to maintain my weight now. I just tend to go a bit crazy with what I can eat because I’m so hungry from not really eating the other days. The workers are amazing. The manager, Justin is really nice and very funny. The owner Darin is also very nice. Love the atmosphere and the music, I still can’t eat the other things and the smells from the other foods still bother me but I deal with it just so I can eat what I’m actually enjoying there. Thanks kpot for being the first restaurant where I’m actually eating some things that I can enjoy. I celebrated my birthday there today, also amazing. I went there a little before the pickup time and went into the parking lot to the side of the restaurant and into the back. I received a text message saying that my order was ready. Since there is no dining in option, there was plenty of parking. I went inside and my order was waiting for me. Everything was packaged nicely. I ordered the fried chicken, chicken wings and fried calamari. My family enjoyed the food but believed that Korean fried chicken was still the best fried chicken they ever had. I liked the fried chicken mainly because the fried batter was not heavy like those chain places. The calamari came with marinara sauce for dipping and the chicken wings had a choice of sauce when placing your order. The pictures shown are after some of the food was eaten. The price is very reasonable. You can call ahead and place an order for pick up. Parking can be a challenge at certain times so it’s easiest if 2 people go and one runs in to get the food while the other drives around the block. Imperio now, for those in the know, is the go-to spot for a mini-escape from Elizabeth Ave. A great ambience, a drink or two, and most importantly, freshly made pupusas.The pupusas are made from fresh masa to order, with a bit of a circus act, watching the mound of masa make its rounds from the basement, past the bar, to the kitchen.
