This was my second time eating here simply trying to support a local business. I will say that the store appears to be clean and so does the area that they cook in.The first time the Italian cheeseburger was a bit over seasoned and there wasn't enough tiny cheap fries like it was clearly lacking. The bread was literally closed no fries sticking out at all. I knew I wasn't coming back until they changed the fries at the least.I came today to get an Italian cheesesteak and was willing to pay for extra fries on the sandwich to make it a 'normal' amount. I didn't do it once realizing that of all the options they have that isn't one of them. You have to order an order of fries for $2.49 for that to happen.I could barely taste or see the cheese on the sandwich and while they've switched to the skinny version of crinkle fries I got even less than the last time. I took a couple bites and just stopped eating it. The sandwich is seasoned enough for 4 burgers. You are to use LESS seasoning on a thin meat like a cheesesteak and there are barely fries on here at all. They've had this complaint before and while there was more than enough meat this is no where near a $10.89 sandwich and if you offer fries on something there should be a reasonable amount. Either go back to the original skinny chicken shack like fries and give TWICE the amount orrrrrrr simply buy thicker fries for your customers. You are better off going to one of the Sandwiches Unlimited locations (one is about a block from KFC) and you have to tell them to season your food and they'll let you pick a pack of salt and pepper or two to give them to season it for you smh.Parking: The most convenient parking is in the front and that can be tricky and hard to get but there is a free lot in the back of the store.

This was our first time going to poppies and we actually enjoyed it but, the price of the food is a little high compared to your local corner store but it’s passable we will definitely be stopping by again. Thanks Again.

$9 sandwich wit $3 worth of meat…. Didn’t even put enough for a role let alone a hero then when I called in, they said next time add extra meat for an extra charge.

I love poppies but they charge Manhattan prices for certain items…you can go to any other store in the neighborhood and get the same item for a dollar or two cheaper ?

lil bit

They have the best sandwiches hands down!!!!

Poppies is official. Being from NYC and searching for Authentic Boars head in NJ is a problem. Poppies keeps. Boars Head as it's only brand for their sandwiches, and I vaguely recall thanking God when they arrived on the scene. As another reviewer stated, their snacks do lack, but that's not where the magic is. The magic is in the cooked and cold food items. The breakfast is a great portion and pretty customizable. Anything from eggs and toast to a steak, egg, and cheese. Their sandwiches can have the neat double, with different cheeses and toppings. I love that because that is so authentic to me. Sandwiches should include all the onion, peppers and sauce you want. The store is always kept clean and the guys are friendly. The grill is in constant use and always being cleaned. I love this place.

I'm a Brooklyn Bodega sandwich girl and Poppies is definitely the place to get a sandwich in Essex County. You order your sandwich at one of the kiosks that they have around the store. They have fresh toppings fresh bread and friendly staff. They lose .5 stars from me because their chips game isn't official. I'm a Deep River/Cape Cod kettle chip fanatic and Poppies doesn't meet my needs there. They don't have kettle chips from any brand. However, their sandwiches can't be beat even though it looks like an average bodega in the hood.

This is my new fav spot when visiting jersey. I've had breakfast here and lunch. They're so good. I'd love for them to get a salad bar too. Always tasty. Everyone is nice and the service is quick.

The 3 stars is for the cooking staff only, because they work hard.1. Sometimes due to the language barrier of the person who takes your food order, your order could be wrong. The cashiers don’t care. 2. They are overpriced for the area. The menu on their website has very old prices.3. The energy just be off. Learn customer service. We deserve it.

They are stealing from customers. Look at the your total with taxes on your receipt and look at the amount they charge on screen.
