As a lover of a good pastrami sandwich I was told of Fred & Murry's Kosher Deli. Let me tell ya, I'm glad they did. The pastrami was perfect! Lean and seasoned deliciously. Not piled high like the Carnegie deli but made a nice sandwich. The inside is quaint with that NY deli atmosphere. My waiter & the counter guys were friendly & pleasant.
As long as you just order the deli (which is a Hebrew National product) you will be fine. Their prepared foods are not particularly good. The matzoh ball soup has no taste, whatsoever. I ordered the hot open brisket... not so good. Stick with a basic pastrami or corned beef. Unfortunately, they are the sole remaining kosher deli in the area. Really really good and one of the last authentic kosher delis around. A shame that this type of establishment is declining in popularity. The food is great - do the brisket, please - service is excellent, and portions are generous. The owner, Chris, is friendly and approachable. Seating is family style and the atmosphere is warm.
